I was watching the "Meet the Draft Picks" thing on CSN, and Greg Cosell give Bloom a 50/50 shot at making the roster. He says that his big chance will be at returning punts, but he thinks Mahe has the experience edge.

well win you win a world cup skiing championship twice, go to the olympics, get multiple endorsement contracts, play 2 sports professionally--you might make the ticker too bud

If there's one roster spot between Bloom and Mahe, Jeremy will be back on the slopes in no time.

MAHE IS UNTOUCHABLE!

his contract does not bode well as far as making the roster

hes an automatic practice squader tho...not that wasting a 5th rounder is a huge mistake but if youre gonna take a guy there that you feel is a project then why not ensure him of a spot for at least a year or two to see if you can have him reach his upside...i just cant see him being outright cut

Well, if he shows anything as a return man in the pre-season, he'll probably get signed somewhere else on the active roster, so he wouldn't make it down to the practice squad.

Zanshin

I have a very hard time believing he won't make the roster.

Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

True. It's structured for little or no impact on the cap if he doesn't pan out. I hope he does, but it's up to him to wow the coaches.

It's always that way with a 5th round pick, though.

it's all the rage this year.  everyone is getting less than the guy who was drafted at the same spot last year

#237
Cole was pick #146
Bloom was pick #147

add to that the fact that bloom hasnt seen a football field in 2 years

= less money

Yeah, I really wouldn't read much into that at all...certainly not at this point.
