Finally sat through all of Boondock Saints last night. Here's what I thought:

It sucked in a lot of ways. Willem Dafoe's character was WAY too over the top. His mincingness and his flamboyance and sudden change of heart halfway through were almost painful to watch. There wasn't any buildup to anything and in fact the most suspenseful moment of the entire movie happens within 15 minutes of the start. Plus they introduce an incredibly important character about 10 minutes before the end of the flick, for no apparent reason. In short, it wasn't written very well.

There were things I liked about it, though. The brothers' bond with each other and their loyalty I thought was well portrayed by the actors. Their mix of holier than thou actions and understated devotion to each other and their friends created a bit of dichotomy that was also done well. I thought the two main characters were very well done by actors who had little to work with from the zesty script.

The thing that really killed me about the movie though, was that I like the idea behind the story. I kept wanting it to be better because there was a ton of potential in the storyline. but it never got better and it just sort of ends without any sort of satisfaction for the viewer.

I can't say that I hated it, because I didn't, but I probably wouldn't recommend it to anyone with a brain. 2.5/5

Couldn't agree more.

Also, saw XMEN last night.  It was pretty good I guess, but there were too many characters introduced to keep up with them all, leading to a lack of explanation on a lot of what was going on.  However, the action scenes were done well, and there were some pretty good one liners.  3/5

i was home from work yesterday...so for the 1st time in 5 years or so...i sat down and watched Episode I - The Phantom Menace...

and you know what? it's kinda grown on me. i actually kinda like it now. go figure.

anyway...went out and saw the DaVinci Code last night, and i did enjoy it. it's obviously not as detailed as the book, but still i thought it was decent. it took a while to get into it...but i though Hanks did fairly well.

I saw it last night too.

Good flick... X2 was better though.  Great action sequences, and top notch special effects... but there were a number of plot holes that left you with a whole lot of questions... which stinks since this was supposedly the last one.  Not too mention that there were characters in there that were just to be there.

I agree with Legendz,  :cfhead :cfhead :cfhead out of 5.

Btw... if you go to see it and you haven't heard already, make sure you stay all the way through the credits.

I just got back from X3, and I pretty much agree with the :cfhead :cfhead :cfhead rating. It was a good action movie, and a good comic book movie, but it wasn't as good as 2. Beast going apeshtein was worth the price of admission.

yeah, who knew Kelsey Grammer was so athletic?

i saw it last night too, while it was good, the best part of the night was the Superman trailer

The worst part was seeing Nick Cage in the Ghost Rider trailer.

For anybody that didn't stay until the end of the credits, you can kinda watch it here.

I'm not entirely sure, but I think some drunk foreigners smuggled a camera into the theater after getting hammered and made a bootleg copy of it.

**SPOILER ALERT***

If you haven't seen X3 STOP HERE!

(matter of fact, I'll just do the spoiler Bunkley style...)

Earlier on in the movie, Professor X was talking to his students about the ethics of transferring the mind of a dying person into the body of a brain dead person.

What happened in the scene was Dr. Moira MacTaggert, a scientist and close friend of the Professor checking on a patient and she hears , "Hello Moira..." in the Professor's voice... leading you to believe that just before being "killed" by Jean, he transferred his mind into the brain dead person laying in the bed.

Therefore... the Professor ain't dead.

Okay...i gotcha.  Hugh Jackman had mentioned something about them possibly doing another movie.
