actually they are...he's pitched only day games so far. although it's probably only a precaution at this point...his next start is a day game, 5/7 1:30pm...

isn't that just a coincidence?  he's pitching every 5th day right?
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

Geary

geary had a bad stretch in mid april, but since 4/18...he's only given up 1 run, and hasnt given one up in his last 4 appearances.

you have to send down floyd...and if he cant handle it...farg him. either that...or move madson to the pen, and send back condrey...and just cut santana when he comes off the DL

it's every 5th day, and a coincidence that worked out in hamels favor. he waited 7 (maybe 6) days from his last clearwater outting to his first scranton outting to hit the 3 day games in a row. i have a friend that works for the red barons, thats why he was brought up to pitch then and not at the start of the season. by the time the day game stretch runs out...he should be healthy enough and it should be warm enough on most evenings that it wouldnt be a concern anymore.

i should make the 5/7 game to see him live :yay

**edit** waited an extra day before his last clearwater start to align with the day games

The problem is this:  Who would they drop down to the minors?  All the pitchers they have in the bigs right now are so high-quality, so none of them deserve to be cut.  STAR POWER

Any pitcher besides Myers or Gordon will do.

Does anyone know what happened to friday baseball on WIP?

Not sure.  But it's only Tuesday so I highly doubt it'd be on right now.  ;)

Hamels @ SWB:

16 IP, 5 Hits, 1 BB, 26 K's, 0.00 ERA

:-D

Now that's just ridiculous. Moving Hammels up and putting Madson in the pen where he's needed is a no brainer. Of course we're dealing with the Phils here so....

.............they might trade him.

aaron rowand with the big hit. 7-5 now btm 8. ryan franklin coming in. joy.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

how close did he come to the grand slam?  on the gameday thing it had the ball landing past the wall.

Almost to the warning track, might have hit it. It was hit to dead center.

Phils win 7-5

Gordon is the most dominant reliever in the game right now. Billy who?

LBIggle

12-14 baby, mets lost so their only 4.5 back now.. braves are tied up @4 in the 8th.  if braves lose the phils hold sole possession of 2nd and face the braves twice to try to put some distance between em.

yeah im an idiot and still get false hope.  the flyers and sixers are gone.. and the draft gives me a checker of how far the start of the nfl is.   blah.

Gordon has been awesome this year.  May be the only Phil to be.

BigEd76

No mention of Sal's awesome play?  Hey...at least he didn't throw it to 2nd!  :-D

PhillyPhreak54

Sal gets a free pass, Ed. He's gritty and buys pizzas. :yay

A few things:

1. Get Hamels here now.

2. Send Madson back to his bullpen spot

3. Franklin-Madson-Rhodes-Gordon is not too shabby. Obviously if Madson can pitch well in the pen, which I think he is best suited for now.

4. When Chris Booker is ready to come off the DL, bring him up too.

5. Send down Condrey and call up Hamels. Then you send Santana to AAA or release him. And when Chris Booker is ready you send down Geary. If Booker stinks it up, you bring Geary back.

6. Tom Gordon is absolutely farging SICK. He's throwing 95mph gas. He has a deadly 12-6 curve and an 89mph cutter than he can thank Mariano Rivera for. Holy shtein he's pitching well.

Rotation:

Lieber
Myers
Lidle
Floyd
Hamels

Bullpen:

Cormier
Fultz
Booker
Madson
Franklin
Rhodes
Gordon

I took the day off yesterday and went to see the Red Barons down here in Richmond.  I actually saw the whole 4 game series which was cool.  Hamels was unbelievable.  Even when Richmond got their bats on him, it was like they were jammed.  Roberson looked good in the field but still hasn't figured it out at the plate, especially if the Phils are looking for him to lead-off.

Anybody know anything about King?  I thought Coste was the 3B of the future but they have him at first and Chris at 1B.  Look for the Braves to bring up pitcher Anthony Lerew.  He has some good stuff.
