ice grillin you

i have a problem with ownership in that they went with a incompetant at gm for so long...and i have a problem with the lack of moves this offseason...but overall there much more fundemental problems in the lockeroom with this team...and not because of a lack of talent

12-12 in april last year gets them in the playoffs
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

Cole Hammels today through 8:

1 hit, 1 walk, 9 k's, 99 pitches
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

Rome

That's ridiculous.   :o

If he's pitching that well down there, there's no reason for him to be at AAA anymore.

MDS

yea another few starts like that and hes gonna have to come up. madson looks pretty zesty, could use him in the pen. floyd had the one good start, not ready to say hes safe just yet.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

SunMo

#1084
final line...

9 ip, 2 hits, 1 walk, 12 K's

114 pitches, 76 for strikes.

farging sick

floyd doesnt go anywhere...gotta let him go the rest of the season...see what he has and let him work thru any problems that arise

madson on the other hand can rot in the pen for the rest of his career for all i care...hamels definitely gets his spot

Yup, Madson, you just pulled bullpen duty. Go take a seat next to Rhodes.

Get Hammels up here now!

MDS

yikes those numbers are just plain sick.

if this team ruins hamels by letting him rot in the minors...i swear to god, i will be done the phils.

this is the one legit prospect they have had in years that they have coddled minor leaguers. barring injury...he is the real deal and should be an ace by 2008.

i see no reason not to call him up at seasons end. even now, considering there is no other Lefty starter...he cannot be worse than floyd, madsen or leiber have been.

Hamels line for the entire year so far? (Clearwater and Scranton Combined)

3-1 / 6 starts 36.1 innings / 10 walks / 55 Ks / 0.99 Era

Rome

Hamels @ SWB:

16 IP, 5 Hits, 1 BB, 26 K's, 0.00 ERA

:-D

SunMo

and he's pitching in Scranton now, so they aren't worried about his back in the weather.  there's nothing to say he can't get hurt just as easily in AAA as he can with the Phillies.  bring him up.  it worked for the Marlins when they brought up Willis, and that was from AA.

Now that's just ridiculous. Moving Hammels up and putting Madson in the pen where he's needed is a no brainer. Of course we're dealing with the Phils here so....

PoopyfaceMcGee

The problem is this:  Who would they drop down to the minors?  All the pitchers they have in the bigs right now are so high-quality, so none of them deserve to be cut.  STAR POWER

actually they are...he's pitched only day games so far. although it's probably only a precaution at this point...his next start is a day game, 5/7 1:30pm...
