I'm not quite ready for this yet.  I stood on the courtyard at Georgetown University watching the Pentagon burn, unable to reach my only sibling who worked two blocks from the Trade Center.

yeah, but you should be thinking of the Japanese we bombed in WWII.  They're both the same, you know.

I saw United 93 with my wife last night. I didn't really want to see it but she is good at persuading me.

I'm still not sure how I feel about it.

There were no "hollywood" effects that took away from the telling of the story or any effects that drew attention to themselves. The actors seemed like ordinary people. And many of the air traffic controllers and military personnel were playing themselves. It was all just very real. It felt like 'real time' and all of the camera angles make you feel like you're right there.

The movie was done well...professional. It was very hard to watch at times and I felt sick at some points. I got the same eery feeling as I did when I turned my TV on to see that a plane had hit the WTC. The hardest thing about the movie is that it's not "just a movie...". It's just hard to grasp. When I was watching something with my daughter the other day, she got scared, but I told her it was just a movie, and that's not the case here. It was surreal and I still can't believe that this actually happened. The movie made me feel mixed emotions of anger and sadness.

When the movie ended, the theater was silent. You just heard people crying.

I bought 2 tickets for another movie though and just walked in. I felt weird helping people profit off 9/11.

Finally saw the new Batman. Very good super hero movie. Katie wasn't too bad in it though she was wrong for the part.
The only thing I would say is that the fight scenes were a little annoying. Hard to tell what was going on. I know that was the idea because he is a bat and all. Overall great comic book movie. I'd put it right below the spider mans.

Also watched the Others again. Man that is a good movie. Still good even though I knew the ending.

I had a similar experience to this as my sister, who worked a few blocks away, was unreachable until MUCH later in the day. She will not be able to go see this movie, I know that, but I think I can.

Agreed, but I wasn't born until 25 years after that happened.  Sitting there watching the Pentagon burn, along with the knowledge that one of my favorite professor's only daughter was on the plane that hit it, along with a brother I couldn't reach, is a hell of a lot more personal than press footage from the 1940s.
Anyone but Reid.

The BIGSTUD

I'll probably see it. After not having seen a movie at a theater since King Kong, I have 3 movies I really wanted to see. United 93, The Da Vinci Code, and Mission Impossible 3.

United 93 intrigues me. I'm not a history nut or a political nut, but I'm just interested in it.
Calling it right on the $ since day one.
Just pointing laughing, and living it up while watching the Miami Heat stink it up.

ice grillin you

just got back from it

good movie but i dont think its theater worthy...doesnt come near being as good as any of the well made documentarys on 911

had some excellent trailers...all the kings men with sean penn looked outstanding

as did believe it or not the omen remake...one of the better trailers ive seen in  a long time

assasination of jesse james looked pretty good as well tho it was super short

Agreed. The concept had potential, but it ended up being nothing but a lot of visual effects and not much story substance.

I have no interest in seeing United 93. I don't need to see a movie-ized portrayal to tell me what happened, and I already know it was tragic.

A League of Ordinary Gentlemen  :cfhead :cfhead  entertaining and informative, but could have been better IMO.  Guess I wanted to laugh more like Kingpin style.   :deion

Watched Killing Zoe last night, because it was rated 4 out of 5 stars on Blockbuster.com.  It was OK, but the Zoe (Julie Delpy) chick had cute little b00bies that she showed plenty of in the first part of the movie.

Quite predictable in the finish, and I'm not much of an Eric Stoltz fan.

Gummo - Lord why did I watch this movie.  3.5/5 for shock value and reality of it.  Just disturbing, I don't know how many times I said "what the farg".  Sad, very sad.
