Dave is once again sharing his warm fuzzy feelings on Trent Cole's body.

Nothing great from ge99 other than some okay draft talk. Spew just ripped him for watching 3 or 4 hours of tape a day, basically saying he has no life. Ouch.

Spew has a man crush on Trent Cole's body. Calls him beast.

In a real game!

Actually, the ball was fumbled out of bounds and Dhani picked it up and just started running.    Course it was like Forrest  and the coaches were all yelling at him to run the other way.

He was known as "scrap iron" coming out of college for that very reason. Scary looking dude.

I'm a little surprised he hasn't been referred to by that nickname much.

Everytime we talk it's "Hey Scrap iron, how you doing?" and he's always like, "Pretty good, master of all things cool and big-titted."

Did they talk about Santanio Holmes at all?  I would think he is a strong option if they stay at their current position.  They could use a gamebreaker type on both special teams and on the outside.

I have a question though, nobody seems to really be happy with any of the options that have been mentioned, so what would be the consensus that would make everybody happy.

what credentials does he have to be on that show that any of us dont have...i mean i met dook...hes just a regular guy...or does he work for the website or something
Fair question.

I have actually gotten training from an NFL scout.  I have worked out players at a Regional Combine.  I have talked to NFL scouts (not many mind you).

I was a broadcaster in college and spent a fair amount of time around the football team's coaching staff.  I learned a lot about football from talking to the assistant coaches.  Those guys are a great source of info.  They love to talk and will answer football related questions all day long.

I also have spent time around several HS coaching staffs.  Sometimes that means nothing, but I was lucky enough to be exposed to some really smart coaches.

I also have read quite a few books on football techniques and that type of thing.

I tape pro and college games all year long and study them.  I've been doing that now for about 11 years.

And Lucy Lawler is a kick@ss name.  I like that.

Can you help me understand why either Chad would be a good pick at #14?

I see Greenway as a guy that can cover but will likely get mauled physically in the NFL, and isn't much of a playmaker or ballhawk either.  I see Jackson as a guy with physical tools, but also not the best route-runner around, and hands of questionable quality.

Dave was on Angelo this morning and saying that all his team position reports have been done on purpose as a joke.
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

actually it wasnt fair or unfair...i wasnt ripping you...i know you have no more or less credentials than anyone else on this board...since i knew you as just a regular cat i was wondering how you got on the show...whether it was because dave knew you from the board or because you were a writer or someone with press credentials or something like that

Greenway isn't the 14th best player, but if the Eagles stay put at 14, there are only so many guys who fit our needs and have a rating in that area.  Can't take a RB or QB.  Not likely to take a CB.  DE?  That leaves LB, S, OL, DT and WR.  If the two OTs are gone, that eliminates OL.  I doubt there will be a S with a rating that high still on the board.  That leaves LB, DT, and WR.  I don't think it is likely that either of the big DTs falls to us.  That leaves LB and WR.

I'm a firm believer in not reaching for need, but the guys likely to be on the board at 14 don't fit us that well.  Too many WLBs, RBs, and CBs.

Chad would play SLB for us.  He's taller and heavier than Dhani.  Like Jones, he would play off the LOS.  Chad is best when he can see the play and go attack it.  We used Dhani like that last year.  Greenway isn't a puss.  He's not scared of contact (Spencer Havner of UCLA is).  He'll lower his head and take on ballcarriers.  He'll battle OL.  Certainly, that isn't his specialty, but so what?  Most of the time LBs are playing in space.  I want a guy who can play in space.  Chad is quite good at that.  There are 30 running plays a game.  Maybe 15 would come at you.  The rest you would be in pursuit.

Dhani is a strong guy.  Did 29 reps at the Combine.  He's a MLB type guy.  Were you happy with him last year?

And Chad is the best coverage LB in the whole Draft.  He excels in pass coverage.  Don't overlook that.  Our LBs didn't exactly play the pass all that well last year.  He could play immediately in the Nickel D.

I watched some of Chad Jackson last night.  I like him.  The route running seems like a somewhat bogus complaint.  He played in an offense that throws a lot of quick, short passes.  UF threw a lot of WR screens and short, odd passes.  They don't seem to have the standard passing tree.

Chad is 6'1, 210.  Ran a 4.32 at the Combine.  He caught 88 passes as a Junior.  He only caught 40 or so passes in '04, but averaged 18 yds a catch.  He can be effective as a possession guy or downfield rcvr.  He's got big hands.  He is too much of a body catcher, but you can work on that.  Has good RAC ability.  He's a playmaker.

I simply don't buy all the guys who are ripping Chad.  I've been a fan of his since early in the year.  I think he'd be an excellent WCO WR.  Is he worth 14?  That might be a bit high, but I have him as a 1st Rd WR.

some good points, but  a little overstated with some of the attributes of Greenway

What did Jackson do in the WCO at Florida that excited you so much that you have confidence in him?
