dt = 2 spots and one was filled last year by their #1 pick (yeah i know they have a rotation but thats their fault...most teams play the first two guys far more than the third and fourth guys)

wr = 3 or 4 spots a lot of times all at once and we dont need to go into the fact that the eagle throw the ball more than anyone in the nfl

I think you can get a damn good DT in the second round at 45.  But Moss, Holmes, and Jackson will almost certainly be gone by then.

I would love for the Eagles to trade down and get Bobby Carpenter.  But I would still put DT beside or ahead of WR as far as needs are concerned.

The thought of Chad Jackson at 14 angers me.

Overrated.

If Walker doesn't get traded here Holmes or Jackson is a must at 14 IMO. I don't want Stovall late because he has no YAC ability. We already have our possession receiver in Gaffney.

Holmes or Jackson being a must at 14 = reach.

reaching = bad drafting

bad drafting = not good

Jeff Webb, Brandon Marshall or Greg Jennings later on in the draft.

And Sinorice maybe if its in round 2 or a trade down in round 1.

Holmes after a trade down = good.

Jackson any sooner than our pick in the 2nd = bad.

Stovall in the 2nd  = good.

Walker ain't happening. No way. No how.

If they are able to add a big bodied DT to eat up double teams and stuff against the run, the LBs will look much better. This is the reason I think the DT position is the most serious need right now. If you look at teams that have big uglies up front, that dominate the LOS, their LBs are always tackle machines, playmakers. The Bears, Jacksonville, Steelers, Carolina, etc. If you get a guy like Ngata, Watson, or Wright, and pair them with a quick, one gapper like Patterson, and two "fastball" DEs (Kearse, Cole, Doogs, Howard), the LOS will be plenty busy with that alone. The LBs can then fly all around and wreak havoc.

That said, if Ngata is gone, I would go with Sims, or one of the top DBs if they drop (Huff). I don't like the idea of them taking a WR, as someone said earlier, the zesty WR class in this draft make guys like Chad Jackson and Santonio Holmes look much better than they are. Example, where do you think those two guys would be rated in last years draft with the likes of Williamson, Edwards, Brown, etc.? I like Moss, but his injury history gives me pause, and I'm not sure in the end he'd be worth an early second round pick. The value isn't there with the WRs.

I didn't name Bunkley because I don't like that idea of adding another one-gapper. Thomas isn't coming back, and Marshall isn't exactly making strides in NFL Europe. If they go DT, I would want a big bastich, not a smallish, quick tackle that can't collapse the pocket routinely.

If Ngata, Sims, Justice, or Huff, are gone and trading up would be too costly, it's time to trade back, with the exception of maybe Lawson, if you've graded him at that spot, but again, DE is pretty thin at the top, and his recent rise could be a result of that.

My top three best picks based purely on need would be:

1. Ngata
2. Sims
3. Justice
