There is a very valid argument to be made that they owe us the same honesty and answers that people feel we deserve from politicians. We do pay their salaries, after all.

you dont have a choice but to pay politician salaries. unless you dont work.

you have a choice as to whether or not your money goes to a sports franchise.

So we should just kind of take a sit and wait attitude approach to all of it, show up on gameday, see who's on the field and be pumped?

Isn't that what we end up doing anyway?

It's not as if any of us have one bit of influence on what the Eagles do in terms of personnel or staff hirings.

Fact is, we're fans and that's it.  Sure, we can vent and discuss things here and elsewhere but really, is there anything else we can do in the end but that?

they should let the fans call plays....yeah, that would rule.
lemonade was a popular drink and it still is

PoopyfaceMcGee

This thread is even more awsum than the draft insight of "Philly Forever".

I would let the sneezy, big titty chick call plays.

Hell, I'd let her call whatever she damn well pleased.

I learned two things listening to WIP...

Gargano banks at Beneficial and Hugh Douglas has/had white neighbors and he's cool with that.

Like I said earlier... scintillating radio.

Why should Andy Reid have to say anything to the general public?

Who are any of you to think that he's answerable to you?  He's answerable to one man and unless your name is Jeffrey Lurie, that wouldn't be you.\

because its not andy reids team...and owner or not...its not jeffery luries...its the cities team...the people whos tax season ticket and psl money went to buying the team a new stadium as well as supporting it for the last 75 years...

the team will have another owner one day but it wont be another cities...and if you dont believe that whoever owns the team has a certain obligation to the city and its fans than youre more of FO lackey than i even thought...

see buddy ryan and pat croce for examples as to what a public relationship with the fans can do...see what pat gillick in in the middle of trying to do compared to what ed wade did...that personal relationship btwn this cities teams and its fans is super important...perhaps youve been in florida for too long to realize what that means

philly is a place where winning actually isnt everything...community and feeling as tho youre a part of the teams is almost as important...because if it wasnt people would have stopped following sports in the city a long time ago

You are very, very naive!

see buddy ryan and pat croce

One is unemployed, the other is promoting basketball on trampolines. Buddy is retired, but after he was fired, what did his popularity in Philly do for him?
Alert, alert. Look well at the rainbow. The fish will be running very soon.

douchebag banner at it again in todays inky....talking about how the fans dont appreciate the GREAT jeff lurie he dropped these jewels...

"I have to tell you, that's personally frustrating to me in a public-relations sense," Banner said. "I know this is controversial, but I don't think there's another owner who would have kept this team in Philadelphia for the economic deal we got on our stadium.

"I'm not trying to belittle the public contribution, but as it relates to what other cities did and other offers we had from other cities, I can't imagine many owners that would have come from someplace else and had the kind of loyalty that he demonstrated to these football fans and this city and the history of the franchise. I don't think anybody recognizes that. I don't think anybody thinks of that."

By now, everyone knows that banner is a retard when it comes to speaking. Feigning outrage over banners comments is the equivilant to popping your collar to get laid.

Lurie bought the franchise for a reported $175 million and it's now worth close to $1 billion. Cry me a farging river, Joe. Lurie's loyalty to the city is shtein compared to the loyalty from it's fans to his team.

these comments are particularly prententious tho and the timing couldnt be worse

i love how he says there isnt another owner that would have kept a cash cow NFL franchise in the 5th biggest market in the country

id like to ask that icehole why he hates the eagle fans so much....what did we ever do to him...i just dont get it

What's surprising is how out of context that quote is with the rest of the article.  Either the conversation took a turn that wasn't covered in the article, or Joey B has a real bug up his ass about the stadium deal.  (probably the latter)
An ad hominem fallacy consists of asserting that someone's argument is wrong and/or he is wrong to argue at all purely because of something discreditable/not-authoritative about the person or those persons cited by him rather than addressing the soundness of the argument itself.
