when they don't want to pay market value, because they feel it's too high, yes, that's being cheap.

if i go to the store to buy a jacket and it's $100, but I only want to pay $50, that's me being cheap.

taterskins salary cap philosophy = voodoo economics.  Their player-personnel department is so pathetic that they require other teams to do their scouting for them.  The Eagles, on the other hand, prefer to get players on their own, develop them and then sign them to long-term extensions.

To me, that's the way to go even with this year's unexpected windfall.

No it's not.  It's called you being a smart shopper, Mo.

Sheep pay retail.  taterskins and those like them = sheep.

Is anyone else sick and tired of the "Eagles are cheap" argument?

It holds absolutely no water whatsoever, yet it's regurgitated over and over here, there and everywhere.

It reminds me of when neocons use the word "liberal" as an invective.  If you say it enough, people will begin to believe it.

Hey, Im not saying their cheap, but the way they choose players are based on dollars and the contract they sign right? There is a reason behind their madness. What is it...I have no idea, because where has it got them. I dont see a trophy, and us as fans sure as hell want one. They way they approach free agency is very different than others that is truly baffling based on the talent they have...thats all. Maybe re-look things?

That couldn't be more wrong, actually.

if not, nothing really new. just says the texans and eagles are in the running and a deal is expected soon.
if so, then whatever i dont really care.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

exactly.

why is it being a smart shopper?  you don't get the product if you don't pay the market price.  you can't drive a BMW for the cost of a Toyota.

They're not cheap.  Correct.  They prefer to offer contracts that actually demonstrate the real worth of the player and give the player an actual chance to play out said contract without numerous restructures or getting the cutski.

exactly my point Patt......thats what the problem has been. Their evaluation of a player is baffling.

they're thrifty.

That is correct, sir.  And while Joe average Dumbass can't tell the difference, there is a big difference.

I'm thrifty.  I love to spend money, but I look for some kind of return on investment.  I've come to the conclusion that I'd rather spend $60 on a nice Eagles polo shirt than $60 on a jersey that I look like a douche in and will probably become obsolete sooner than I'd like.

call it what you want id rather have moulds for 5 mil than gaffney for 750k

All of this Moulds talk will be a memory when we get Walker and TJ Duckett....at a bargain price Im sure... ;)

There's being a smart shopper and then there's being a dumbass sheep.  The Eagles are the former and not the latter, yet some of you prefer them to be stupid and overpay for other people's castoffs.

For those of you who do, try here.

id love to have the eagles player evaulation team and the skins pocket book

that would = superbowl
