That video does nothing to really inspire confidence. Didn't see him make one guy miss, break one tackle, or do anything that would make me think he could beat out a healthy Pinkston. On the other hand, the video does show what horrible protection Carr had, and how little time he had to throw the ball. Gaffney could be a great player, but after watching him play in that offense, it's hard to know one way or the other.

No, I'd rather have Pinkston draw the flag and get the automatic first down.  The problem with trying too hard to grab a bad pass is that you might deflect it right to the other team.  If you focus on drawing the flag, then you're set, even if the errant pass goes right into the other team's awaiting hands.
