Anyone seen a good movie lately?

I like to poo on my company's dime. Sometimes I'll even come into work so I can bill a couple hours and take a dump.

I hit the head 3-4 times a day. It's a beautiful thing.

Back to movies. I think I might hit up Turkish Star Wars at the local watering hole. Basically, some turkish 'directors' took footage from a bunch of movies and the plot lines and re-shoot them scene for scene in super low-budget fashion (like in their apartments and other public places). They are supposed to be some of the strangest movies ever made. I'm extremely curious.

not all of us bath in teh glory of crack and find our little happy shelter lives on this world so great.  if it wasn't for all the materials we possess and the bullshtein we are feed, then maybe some of us would realize how farg up life is.  some of us just want to ignore and be selfish iceholes, while others choose to embrace reality.

No one has ever called me selfish before, that's a first. And, if nothing else, I am a realist. I just figure, any day not underground is a reason to be happy. I am not really a materialistic person, I have some stuff but I am not onstentatious. My happiness doesn't come from stuff. Nothing makes me happier than watching my kids play sports, and screaming my head off for the Phils or Eagles.

And El Ninos. Nothing makes you happier than El Ninos.

I do them once a year only. I make about 2 gallons for my annual barbecue.

I can not crap at work. I've seen the people I work with, and I don't want my ass anywhere near where those asses have been.

The man. The myth. The legend.

Anyone who can't take a dump at the office is missing out on one of life's simple pleasures.

Watched 90% of Where the Buffalo Roam last night. I love Hunter S Thompson and I love Bill Murray so I figured I was setting myself up for dissapointment, and I was right. It wasn't terrible, but the movie was made for the simple purpose of putting HST's personality to celluloid. Murray pulled off Thompson pretty well, but much like the writer's work the movie itself was disjointed and without a discernable storyline. It works when you read it, because you feel like you're getting direct insight into the mind of a brilliantly insane individual, but on film you need a plot to make it work. I've been wanting to see it for years and so I'm happy I checked it out, but it doesn't do either th subject or the star justice.

I felt the same way about Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Loved the book; hated the movie.

I didn't hate Fear and Loathing, and I didn't hate Where the Buffalo Roam, but neither one of them are very good and neither one of them do any justice to HST. And frankly, I don't think any movie really could.

I liked Where the Buffalo Roam a lot better than the Johnny Depp movie.  But agreed, neither is as good as reading his stuff.

A 5-minute short film of a roughly unshaven hungover guy blowing his head off would probably do the trick.

Watched History of Violence last night.  Don't have much to add, but I think it was a poorly written version of Unforgiven.  The gratuitous death shots (and crotch shots - Jesus it looked like she had a hedgehog glued to her coot) added nothing to the story, which was mighty thin to begin with.
Anyone but Reid.

I also watched History of Violence last night. If I had gone into it without having read all of this I would have known next to nothing about it and probably would have enjoyed it but not really thought too much of it. As it was however, I approached it with a pretty critical eye and ended up enjoying it more because my expectations were lower.

The acting ranged from very good (Ed Harris) to pretty good (Viggo, Maria Bello, William Hurt), to bad (the son, most of the extras), but the good definitely outweighed the bad. The story was more or less predictable, but solid and interesting. I liked the ending because nothing is really tied together or concluded so it didn't come across as forced like most movies do. Thought it was definitely worth the time and effort to see.

Just watched Monty Python and The Holy Grail again last night.  God, that movie's hilarious. Also watched Better Off Dead again the other night because I owe some guy at work two dollars. I don't think I'll ever pay him and maybe he'll ride his bicycle off the side of a mountain.

Both those movies make me laugh - sometimes out loud.

I also rewatched Aliens last night. It still rules.
