Mon, 20 Mar 2006 21:13:13 -0800

John Clayton, of ESPN.com, reports the Seattle Seahawks have not matched the offer the Minnesota Vikings made to Seahawks transition free agent OG Steve Hutchinson. Hutchinson now becomes a member of the Vikings. The Seahawks will save $6.391 in salary cap by letting Hutchinson leave.

All this story reveals is that the Vikings still aren't ready to do business for real.  What an embarrasment.

wow, how embarrassing to steal a pro-bowl guard who is a transisiton player from another team.

EMBARRASSMENT!

Minnesota is a bush league organization that got lucky with a gimmick contract.  But yeah...I got owned.

I'm not done with this one.  What kind of front office hangs a mega deal for a player they supposedly REALLY want on a gimmick?  Farging idiots.  Must be something in the water in Minnesota turns people pit bull stupid.

If they wanted him that bad, they needed to pony up 56mil and be done with it.  All this story reveals is that the Vikings still aren't ready to do business for real.  What an embarrasment.

They already offered the guy the richest contract for a Guard in the history of the NFL.  What more could they have done to show they were serious about wanting Hutchinson?.  They put in a clause that served as insurance for their offer... and guess what?  It worked.

I don't get how on earth you can be ripping the Vikings on the move... you call them an embarrassment, but they got their mission accomplished.

That's what you do when you are jealous you didn't get a player they did. You say the team is stupid for doing the move, and hope it doesn't work out for them.

and 50% of the time it works so keep your fingers crossed.

Vikes signed Tony Richardson from KC.

He'll obviously suck because he only signed a 2 year deal and KC made no effort to re-sign him...

Not really offense, but the word is from Patriots fans that Vinatieri signed with the Colts. Multiple people heard it on a Boston radio station, WEEI.

Just about to post that.

Dallas fans wanted him bad.

Personally I preferred Longwell because I thought he would be somewhat cheaper, but evidently Jones and Co. were holding back until they found out how much it would cost to sign motormouth.

It wouldn't take much to improve on the crap we trotted out there last year, though.

Larry Allen will be released according to Dallas local radio.

Wonder if his fat ass made a dent in the sidewalk when they tossed him out the door.

Maybe the Birds go after him to shore up the inside? Think he has anything left?

He's still strong as hell, but he can't move nearly as well as he could in the past. It used to be he could just dominate with strength but those days are gone. He can beaten by quick players and if he doesn't get his hands on you fast enough.

He was going to count $7.55M against the cap, so there's no way he was staying.
