IIRC... Spads got into it on the boards with some guy a couple years ago... long story short... the guy said he'd come up to the Vet and knock him out in person and Dave says, "Come on and I'll deck your puss."

I probably butchered that... but it was something to that effect.

Pretty much what Feva said.  They were still at the Vet, so this went back to 2002 on the previous EMB (the awful one between the black screen one and the current one).  Most of the responses after that were shock and disbelief that a grown man actually said "deck your puss"...

It would appear the Eagles are once again "squirreling" away for future years by adding about $9m in LTBE to the contracts of Howard and Schobel (which are probably not really "LIKELY" to be earned).

Even still, they're still staring at around $20m of cap space... maybe more like $16-$17m after Garcia & Gaffney.

They wouldn't cut Hollis because they don't want to pay him.  They'd cut Hollis because he'd have fallen off the depth chart.  Besides, Indy got farged by signing Simon...  losing Edge & many others... I bet they're wishing the NFL commish was a season ticket holder of theirs and willing to look the other way when they slide money under the table and outside the rules of the CBA.

They hit this year, then when they're not earned, they're credited to next year... effectively pushing the cap dollars from 2006 to 2007.  Which is super-exciting #1 awsum, because the Eagles are going to probably just do the same thing with the cap money next year.

say one incentive for howard is a $1M bonus for 15 sacks. the $1M is on this years cap, unless he gets less than 15 sacks...then that cap hit gets taken off this year, and added to next year.

an UNLIKELY to be earned...would be to have Howard on the books for $3M if he makes 10 50 yard FGs.
