Oh yeah...

All I heard on NFL Network was Schefter saying that the Eagles are one of about 5 teams that have called Arrington's agent, expressing interest.

do they know runyan wants to come back so bad that they believe they have him in a tough spot and can get him whenever they want....

do they have a verbal deal with him now...but dont want to do it until they can get some other guys in first and see hwo the money shakes out

He decided to go on vacation.  The Eagles are the only team he met with, and it was a brief meeting, because he had a flight to catch.  It would seem that the Eagles plan to bring him back in, just as soon as he's back in the actual country.

I didn't feel like checking Philly.com for it, but apparently Brookover reported that the Patriots are interested in Runyan...

Not sure where he said that....its nowhere on philly.com

QuoteExtra points. The Eagles re-signed wide receiver Darnerien McCants to a one-year deal yesterday. McCants appeared in 12 games with the Eagles last season, primarily on special teams, and had five catches for 87 yards... . There are rumblings that the New England Patriots may have an interest in Eagles right tackle Jon Runyan.

That article was not posted at the time I was looking. It was an article scheduled for today and wasn't up there until AFTER I searched.

Meanwhile....that is about the least credible sounding shtein I've ever heard. "There are rumblings" "may have an interest"

Why even bother putting that in there. I hate the media.

There is no legitimacy to it whatsoever. All its there for is to start people talking (whining).

I would love for Schefter to be right. Arrington here = sweet.

IMO, expressing interest in Arrington = Howie R. calling Poston's secretary and telling her that they'd be willing to give him a one-year deal at the minimum to "get in and compete" with Dhani Jones.

PhillyPhreak54

You're probably right.

But it still would be sweet.

I'm not totally sold on Arrington being able to play in JJ's defense, but I'll say this... he's light years better than Dhani Jones.

If the Eagles have the opportunity to grab him up, they should definitely go for it.

Sad, but probably true.   :-D

I read this and thought it was worth sharing:

QuoteWednesday, March 15, 2006
Mr. T has interest in signing with the Philadelphia Eagles as the Eagles are one of the few teams pursuing a fullback.  Mr. T is scheduled to visit the NovaCare Complex on Friday, March 17, 2006

Wednesday, March 15, 2006
Bea Arthur has been contacted by the Philadelphia Eagles.  The interest in having Bea as a long snapper is an attractive idea indeed.  Place Kicker David Akers is representing Arthur during any prospective contract negotiations.

Wednesday, March 15, 2006
Rick Flair has been contacted by the Philadelphia Eagles regarding a possible contract.  Flair is an accomplished cheap shot artist and the Eagles are in need of a tough WR, so the pairing would make sense considering the cap friendly numbers that Flair is expected to demand.

Wednesday, March 15, 2006
Nubbs Keebler, formerly of the Keebler Elves is to visit the NovaCare Complex to discuss possible employment with the Philadelphia Eagles.  Keebler is expect to fill a glaring hole at WR.  Drew Rosenhosen is the current agent for Keebler, but may be fired in the coming hours.
