That's what I'm saying.  It would be a concern if he did not.

Simoneau's 'ceps are bigger and more defined than Schobel's, right beermonkey?

Notice the well toned muscle on Simoneau's right forearm. There's a man who spends many nights alone.

Now there is a post worthy of praise! All hail the killer of fun. Post no nonsense on his board! The nonsense is only for HIM to post. Learn it well.

Would it cheer you up to repeat the same five phrases over and over?

Dude, you should know by now the answer to that is yes.

Look at Schobel's face in that pic. Looks like Sims is really giving the guy all he can handle.

Or at least holding on for dear life.

I'll toss in my two cents, I think Schobel is a damn good signing, it fills a need, and I think the guy has upside. Cincy never threw the ball to any of their TEs, I think between the three they had a total of 35-40 catches. If I remember Schobel was pretty highly ranked in terms of TEs in his draft class, which was a pretty good one.

Name                RD    Pick     Team
Jeremy Shockey      1     14     N.Y. Giants
Daniel Graham        1     21     New England
Jerramy Stevens     1     28     Seattle
Doug Jolley             2     55     Oakland
Matt Schobel           3      67     Cincinnati
Chris Baker             3     88     N.Y. Jets
Justin Peelle            4    103    San Diego
Randy McMichael     4    114     Miami

Some pretty good TE's were taken before and after the dude.

Here is his write-up from the '02 Draft from NFL.com:

Quote
Matt Schobel
Position: Tight End
College: Texas Christian
Height: 6-5
Weight: 263
Hometown: Columbus, Texas

ANALYSIS
Positives: Physical position blocker who has nimble feet and does a nice job escaping the jam to get into his routes ... Has excellent lateral agility and uses his hands well to lock on and ride the defender wide ... Catches well in the short area ... Has an explosive initial burst off the snap ... Decisive moving out to neutralize the linebackers ... Stays low while trying to out-muscle defenders ... Good in-line battler who has the quickness to hook defensive ends inside on sweeps ... Extends his arms to catch away from the framework ... Maintains balance when engaging defenders ... Has the short area speed to line up in a variety of slots ... Looks in the routine pass, making proper jumps to get to the ball at its highest point ... Possesses the speed to threaten the seam.

Negatives: Has limited starting experience ... More of a finesse blocker, lacking explosion behind his hits ... Will lean into the defender and waist bends at times when trying to recover ... Not real shifty running after the catch and does not run his routes with much urgency ... Needs to sustain blocks better, as he relies too much on using his size ... Pops straight up and does not drive off the ball with authority ... Not a "gym rat" and will go at his own pace in the weight room ... Tough player, but does not play with the aggressiveness or intensity you'd expect.
