C'mon man, 400 pound pass rushers solve all problems.

The man. The myth. The legend.

I love it when people say this. It's like saying don't worry...God will save us.  :-D

Well, I could go the other way and cry like a bitch after a whole four days of free agency has passed...

If old a$$ Strahan can do it, your damn right the Freak can do it. The Giants improved their defense last year(I say that mildly) compared to the year before, and its like Strahan saw the light somehow. Having 2 legitimate outside threats is a huge bonus on any defense...and were fortunate enough now to have them both.

Pressure on the QB to step up in the pocket now. Last year, QB's were sitting back there eating a cheese sandwhich, doing the Kid-N-Play kickstep, and winking at the cheerleaders before they threw the ball for gods sake!--draft a solid DT in the draft, keep our rotation, and DB's back to the ProBowl.  The run D automatically got better....I can dig it.

It's weird but I almost think Kearse is too light. I think Strahan is heavier and stronger than him. I picture Kearse as a ragdoll when he's trying to get in. Jason Taylor...probably weighs the same as Kearse. It's my own skewed perception of this guy...but I honestly think he's past his prime. Either teams have caught up to him...or he's scared to get hurt and go all out...but there's something missing about him. He's not the threat he used to be.

Kearse

Strahan

10lbs. differance? Seems more like a 30 pound differance to me.

In your crystal ball for the next season, do you also see Chad Johnson dancing like an idiot after a touchdown and Andy Reid running the ball less than he claims he wants to?

Leiutenant Literal, I have been caught up in the middle of a thought. Forgive me for posting the obvious.

What I mean is that Kearse is ineffective to me at the spot because he's Pinkstonish for his position.

Quote from: PhillyPhreak54 on March 13, 2006, 08:14:05 PMCome to think of it, this starting tandem is the first time in years that the Birds have had two studs at DE. Not since the Simmons and Reggie days have we seen this.

They weren't "studs", but the Fuller/Mamula combo of '96 wasn't that bad....

Fuller was dope. I almost wish Mamula was a second faster. All of those hurries... :'(

True....Esp. considering Andy Harmon was out early that year.

I liked Fuller. And forgot all about Mamula.

I remember the DE situation in 1998 was so bad after Hugh went out that they actually had Trotter playing some DE.

Of course hes past his prime, he was the fastest end when he entered the league. That happens when you age and have been in the league throwing your body around like Superfly Snuka. Either way he will be even more effective penetrating the outside now. Keep the faith on Kearse regardless......hes the best end weve seen here in Philly in a while.
