Wow
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Gee I thought I was dorky. I didn't know this software had a spell checker.

Wow, I forgot that Dio lost his tickets.  That had to suck.

I will never forget that.  I had been in CA and I returned the Saturday before the game.  For some reason, I took my checkbook--where my tickets were kept--with me to CA.  Some time while I was there (I later figured out) it slipped between the footboard of the bed and a blanket chest that sat at the end of the bed in my friend's guest bedroom.  I didn't realize I didn't have the tickets until well after I got home.  Basically, I lost my mind, upending my house...confused for the most part whether I had even actually taken my checkbook to CA.  But I did remember paying bills right before I left.  I also emptied my recylcing right before I left.  But the evidence was clear: after I emptied the recylcing, I had to replace my checks because I had used the last one.  So laying right there in the recycle bin was the spine from the expended check packet.  No tickets, no checkbook...I was defeated.  I was pretty sure eventually that I had taken the checkbook to CA, but lost it somewhere completely.
The hotel didn't have it.  My friend didn't see it when he looked.  Neither of them found it when I asked them to look a second time.
What a drag.
That year was the second (and last) year I had gotten free tickets from work, and I had promised a ticket to  drunkmasterflex.  It was one of the worst weekends of my life phsychologically.  I was tore up.

The only good news to the story was that my friend eventually found the checkbook, restoring some sense of sanity--how could someone just totally LOSE somethign like that??--and more importantly, returning a family heirloom.  It was my grandfather's checkbook, and I value it highly.

Dumbass.

:-D  Harsh.

Dio, did you find the checkbook in time to go to the next game you had tickets for in there?

Diomedes

Yeah, I did.  The Giants game at the Meadowlands.  And yeah, I'm a dumbass.

This thread gets a lot of random views. It was a good story. Full of lies, but a good story none the less.

Dio, does the checkbook look similar to the plastic ones we use now or is it leather?
