According to Brookover the Eagles are "set" to sign Bentley. Whatever that means.

The Eagles will have to wait a few more days, but it appears as if their first big free-agent signing of the off-season is going to be LeCharles Bentley, the Pro Bowl center from the New Orleans Saints.

According to a source close to the center, Bentley's interest in joining the Eagles is so strong that only the delay in the free-agency period prevented the move from happening today.

Great news.

Bentley is young and he's a beast at center. I'd rather have Hutchinson, but I'd certainly welcome interior beef on the OLine.

Is Bentley playing center your personal opinion or is that what you heard from someone? It doesn't make sense to me when they already have Fraley and Jackson there, and especially when Jackson was really impressing people.

Move Jackson to guard. Resign Ruyan. Have the best damn run blocking line in the NFL drop back 60 times a game.

I question where Bentley would play myself. I like Jax at Center and Hicks isnt a slouch at LG.

Maybe Bentley plays LG and Hicks play the 6th man.

Jackson could be a nice story at C, but Bentley is one of the top C's in the league. If he's indeed on his way to Philly, the dream is over for Jamal. He can either remain as a backup at C or he can challenge Hicks at LG. That simple.

Bentley has made the Pro bowl at Center and Guard. That's quality right there.

This move tells me that Andy realizes not only that we need to get stronger in the interior, but also that we need to be better against the 3-4... which we all know wasn't Fraley's strength. Actually, he flat out sucked. Bentley is much better suited to go head to head with a NT and hold his own.

We need some physical guys for the 3 times a game we run the ball and Bentley certainly qualifies.

If Bentley joins the Eagles, then Jackson, Clarke, Hicks, and Herremans will all be in the running for LG. Assuming Andrews is not sliding out to tackle, then Herremans, Jackson, Hicks, and Armstrong will all get a shot at RT.

Bentley's the real deal, though. Despite that he's from THE Ohio State University.
