Lets see what actually happens.  Lots can change before 3/3.

Even if it doesn't happen, you guys are still in a hurt locker.

Oh man, I can't wait to see what ES is like if this goes down.

I'll give you a hint: "They screwed us, just like the refs, media, NFLPA, other owners, my fourth cousin on my mother's side, the police, the church, George Bush, Ted Kennedy and He-Man."

No shtein.
"The very existence of flamethrowers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, "You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.""  R.I.P George.

One of thew things that could be decided is the cap for 2006.
I've been looking for cap hell for a long time now.  2006 is supposedly THE year, but people have been saying this for years now.
If they have to cut players, we'll see.  But I kinda doubt it, despite all the amateur internet capologists.

Well if qwert isn't worried than I think we can all rest assured that the CBA will get done. Phew.

Anyway, as much as it would be hysterical to watch the Skins disintigrate entirely for the next 4-5 years without a CBA, it's better for everyone involved that the CBA gets done. Luckily either way the skins are going to have to shave a ton of salary before they'll be anywhere near the cap. Good times.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

Usually things like this happen last minute.
I would be surprised if a new CBA isn't agreed upon this week.
And if the 2006 cap is 104 vs 92 that makes a big difference, no 30% rule etc.
Then everyone will predict 2007 to be the taterskins cap hell.  The cycle will continue.

Edit 30% rule in place, but supposedly not as hamstrung

PoopyfaceMcGee

I don't care if the taterskins ever have cap hell or not.  They are banking on Jason Campbell to be the future of the franchise, so the cap isn't really the biggest concern for them right now.

Why in the hell would the cap be 104? Everyone and their mother is saying it will be around 95. You can't just make stuff up and hope that it is true.

I do it all the time. Only I don't care if it's true; I just hope people believe the shtein that I'm saying.

SunMo

but the cap is going to be around a gazillion dollars.  that should be beneficial to the Eagles.
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

PoopyfaceMcGee

A guy I know told me the cap will be at least $103.5 million.  I know he's right, because he thinks Gibbs is awsum.

Quotethink Paul Tagliabue's biggest problem this week won't be making a deal with Gene Upshaw to continue the salary cap through 2007 and beyond. It'll be making a deal with his owners. Look for Washington's Snyder, Dallas' Jones and Houston's Bob McNair to be impediments to any new form of revenue-sharing. And that, folks, is what's holding up a new deal on the owners' side.

If there is no extension to the labor agreement, the NFL is set to go into 2007 without a salary cap. That's not really going to cause as much mayhem as the doomsayers are predicting; you're not going to see some lucky free agent wideout, let's say, sign for $20 million a year because Daniel Snyder thinks that player will put his taterskins over the top

2 little bits from Peter Kings article. No doubt he's a moron, but the Skins fans are up in arms and totally offended that he dare take shots at their wonderful owner.

But this appears to be the mentality of Skins fans:
QuoteTwo words there don't have me sold quite yet...."if" and "predicted". If those things happen then my view will change on it but right now there is no CBA so that's the scenario i'm looking at
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

It's true, all of the experts are wrong, but these random skins fans are right.  they're going to have to cut like 5 players who would have been cut anyway, and thats it.

Don't forget that according to the know-it-all Skins fans that there will be a line of players at Snyder's door just waiting to have thier contracts restructured to help out good ol' Coach Joe.

PoopyfaceMcGee

Sean Taylor will be the first in line.  He's all class all the time.
