As for a backup QB, I wouldn't mind getting Chad Pennington if the Jets cut him and he can come cheap.

Nooo!  He's done.  Over.  Broke.  Ain't ever gonna be half decent again.

Give me Aaron Brooks, or John Kitna.  Give me a real quarterback as a back-up.

Aaron Brooks?

We;ve already got a guy who is careless with the ball and loves to throw INTs...Mike McMahon

Supposedly Clayton on ESPN said Moulds is as good as gone and will become a FA.

Good news if the Eagles want him.
Calling it right on the $ since day one.

Get him as soon as his ass is cut. Seriously. LIke before that old bastich Levy can muster up enough breath for the final "t" in cut call his agent and sign him.

He is not subjected to FA period.

Just like Derrick Mason and Moose Muhammad last year. They signed before FA after they were cut.

The BIGSTUD

Do you think he's got that much left to jump at him that quickly?

I'm in favor of signing Moulds, but I want him less than I used to. Mainly because I'd rather get a young guy in here so we can stop worrying about receivers every two years. If we got a young guy we would put an end to this receiver problem.

I think Moulds would be the perfect fit because he's going to be more than servicable as a #1 for 2 more years (barring injury) and he'll also be a nice veteran tutor for Reggie Brown.  Sign Moulds for a couple of years and then let Brown take over for him.  Brown + Moulds = Football wood.

PhillyPhreak54

There aren't really any young guys out there who I like.

Randle El? He's benefitting big time from a weak FA class. Would you pay him #1 type money? I am not sure that I would. But some team is going to that's for sure.

Bryant? He's a knucklehead. If he couldn't cut it on the Cowboys with that owner and coach he won't cut it here. He's immature and a hothead.

Eric Moulds is older, yes. But he is what a team who is in a "WIN NOW" mode needs. And the Eagles are in that mode for sure. You want a young guy to develop? We've already got him. So you sign Moulds and let the savvy veteran do his thing while Brown continues to grow. Moulds is still a very good WR. I don't care about 3 years from now. He's good for 2 more years for sure.

The only other WRs who I like are:

David Givens, Kevin Curtis and David Tyree.

Givens is my #2 option to come here. If they cannot or will not get Moulds then they better land Givens.

Curtis is a RFA and certainly will get the mid-level RFA tender because compensation for him with the low tender would be a 4th rounder. Ike Bruce is on his last legs and Linehan likes Curtis a lot. No way the Rams let him go.

David Tyree is a guy I would love to see here. Not as a WR but as a STs demon. The only reason I put him on here is because his listed position is WR. He's also a RFA and likely will get the mid-tender because if they low tender him someone can have him for a 7th rounder. He'd be the 4th WR here though.

The BIGSTUD

I guess, but in two years it's back to looking for another compliment for Reggie. By then Reggie may be the #1, but still we will be back to looking for another receiver.

But, yeah, I'd take Moulds.

PhillyPhreak54

That's how it goes though. Unless you're lucky you usually don't have two stud WRs. But let's worry about who the #2 is when the time comes.

1. Moulds
2. Givens

Get one of them

The BIGSTUD

I'll put Bryant in front of Givens. He's more of a big-play guy. Givens doesn't have enough speed for me, but he's good for a possession receiver.

Get Moulds like we got Kearse....when the clock strikes midnight to FA day.

Bryant is a farging headcase. Sorry, don't want another one on this team.

Despite his locker room problems, I still don't think it's a given that Moulds gets released.

Read back a few posts, Sailorboy. You'll see why I am talking about Moulds again.

The WIP morning show mentioned something about an ESPN Insider article saying the Eagles are going after Randle El like they did for Kearse 2 years ago?  Anyone?  Bueller?  ???

The combination of 2 sources just named was enough for me to laugh and point at you Ed.  :P

WIP had no clue that the Eagles were going after Kearse.  I'm sure they're just as clueless this time around too.
