  • He was hurt almost all of last year.

We have enough backs that sort of fit his mold.

You mean the shouldn't be a starting RB mold?  Yeah, I agree.

Kyle VandenBosch should be on the list.

LIke I said in the ProBowl thread...

ProBowl or no ProBowl VandenBosch is making himself some serious money this year. He signed the one year deal with TEN to prove he was healthy and then went out and had 12.5 sacks for a shtein ass team. Now he has 2 more sacks tonight.

GET KVB. Yes, I'm serious.

I wouldn't have minded picking him up, but he just signed a long-term deal with the Titans.

As for a backup QB, I wouldn't mind getting Chad Pennington if the Jets cut him and he can come cheap.

Nooo!  He's done.  Over.  Broke.  Ain't ever gonna be half decent again.

Give me Aaron Brooks, or John Kitna.  Give me a real quarterback as a back-up.

QuoteJets | Pennington declines pay cut

Ken Berger, of Newsday, reports New York Jets QB Chad Pennington's agent, Tom Condon, has rejected the Jets' proposal to slash the injured quarterback's base salary for 2006 to $1 million and force him to earn the remaining $8 million he is owed through incentives. The Jets have until Mar. 3 to decide if they can live with Pennington's current contract, negotiate a cap reduction or release him. The quarterback is due a $3 million roster bonus Mar. 3.

The Jets salary cap woes are going to go from bad to slit-your-own throat worse thanks to Pennington.

Couldn't happen to a nicer group of fans.

We'll see you soon, Chad.

I wouldn't be upset with Pennington being a backup because he would clearly be serviceable, but it won't ever happen. And it would be better to develop someone rather than just retread some noodle armed choir boy. If they end up signing him, meh. If they don't meh.

Oh, believe me.  I don't really think there's a chance in hell he comes here.  He refuses to restructure an $8 mill paycheck because he obviously thinks he can still play.  He sure as hell won't take the chump change the Eagles would throw his way to come and ride the pine.

We can talk backup QB til we're blue in the face, but we all know it's gonna be good ol' ass eyes.

All this Pennington talk is nonsense.  No NFL QB has ever successfully recovered from throwing arm rotator cuff tear/surgical repair.  Much less twice in back to back years.

And he was hardly great before the injuries.  He's done.

What do you have against the Jets?

I have nothing against the Jets.  Their fans are iceholes, however.

And before you start in again with the "New York" thing, yeah... I know plenty of Jets fans.  The ones I've met are uniformly arrogant, clueless, bandwagoning douchebags who run around in gay little firefighter hats chanting Giants cheers by mistake.

Diomedes

Yeah, well.

I just can't hate on a losing AFC team that plays second fiddle to one of the Eagles' arch rivals.  Just makes no sense to me.  And the fans I know are alright.  Certainly more tolerable than many, many brands of fans.
