They're just a couple of big dumb animals, folks.

QuoteLAKE FOREST, Ill. -- Chicago Bears teammates Fred Miller and Olin Kreutz admitted Monday they were in a fight last week in which Kreutz broke Miller's jaw.

"We realize it was something very stupid on both of our parts and it's not going to happen again," Miller said in the locker room as he apologized to his family, his teammates and Kreutz.

Details of the fight were not clear, and neither Kreutz or Miller would provide them.

Miller needed surgery last week after initially saying he hurt his jaw in a fall at his home. He missed Sunday's game against the 49ers, ending a stretch of 110 straight starts dating back to 1998. He will also be sidelined this Sunday when Carolina visits Soldier Field.

Kreutz, a four-time Pro Bowl center, said he didn't know if he could be punished by the team or the league for the fight.

"Things got out of hand. Something happened and it just got out of hand," he said.

Kreutz, who is 6-foot-2, 292 pounds, and the 6-7, 320-pound Miller, an offensive tackle, said they talked after the altercation.

"I don't know if it will ever be completely gone, you know, but we're over it," Kreutz said. "The team is the No. 1 thing and we're going to try to move on."

Miller, a 10-year veteran who was one of the Bears' main offseason acquisitions, characterized the incident as "immature and stupid."

"Olin and I don't have a problem with each other," said Miller, who has a steel plate in his jaw.

"We're still going to go out there and play and we're going to work together. We're still going to go out on our regular nights and have dinner together as an offensive line and as a unit."

See, somebody really could have punched T.O. if said person could have been just a little more like Kreuntz instead of a big sissybitch.

So it turns out this fight happened at an FBI shooting range.  The players were invited to take target practice at the shooting range.  A barbeque followed, with alcohol served.  Fight ensued.  Now it's investigation time.

QuoteBengals | Locker room scuffle breaks out
Thu, 17 Nov 2005 11:45:51 -0800

Mark Curnutte, of the Cincinnati Enquirer, reports a locker room fight occurred at Paul Brown Stadium Thursday, Nov. 17, while the media was present. DL Carl Powell picked up CB Reggie Myles and threw him down. The incident occurred in the equipment room, adjacent to the locker room, and touched off a 20-minute shouting match that spilled into the locker room and involved several other Bengals players. The confrontation was believed to be the result of horse-play gone too far. Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis said through the team's media relations department that he had no comment on the incident and that it would be handled internally. Rookie LB Odell Thurman got into a shouting match with some of the veteran players who had led Myles out of the equipment room.

Why isn't Wilbert our running backs coach?

Because having the job as our running backs coach would be similar to being a weather man in San Diego.

A girlfriend of my wife's is a Stillers fan.  She and her husband came over this week for dinner and talk turned to T.O.  They were ribbing us pretty good until I uttered the two words that will silence any Stillers fan.
