Each week is a different scenario, man. The Broncos did not brign heat on Brunell and Manning like they did with McNabb.

Also...

After that bad opening drive of the 2nd half the run/pass balance was 16 passes and 11 runs culminating in the INT that ended all hope.

Andy decides to run and the offense starts moving? What a surprise!

The one thing that boggles my mind is the defense. The offense we pretty much got figured out. McNabb is not playing well(for whatever reason whether it's the sports hernia, pressure on him, etc) Andy isn't running the ball, the play calls suck.

But why is the defense playing so poorly, especially after shutting down COMPLETELY the best player in football last week in LT? How come we can't keep teams out of the end zone this year. Jim Johnson has always been a bend but don't break defense. Why is it breaking this year? I find it hard to believe that a lack of focus is the only cause of this total breakdown. Yea, I know the pass rush sucks, but our pass rush from the d-line is usually never good. We usually need to blitz to get pressure most of the time. It just baffles me why this defense is playing so poorly. It's the same stinkin squad as last year minus Burgess. Burgess is having a great year this year, but last year he didn't during the regular season.

The offense and their horrible lackluster attitude has finally rub off on the defense.  Dawkins can only get the defense crunked so much.  When you walk off the field and see the faces of all your idiot offensive players...you lose some passion for the game right there.

well, dawkins was getting schooled left & right yesterday too...maybe he should stop posing & start playing.

as much as we've bitched about the offense all season, the defense is really what's mostly responsible for the slow starts.  yeah, it would've been nice for the offense to maybe get a 1st down in the 1st quarter.  but as a defense you cannot give up touchdowns everytime the other team gets the ball.

the secondary is getting burned because the below average front 4 can't get pressure.  the only way they can get pressure is by blitzing and now teams are max protecting and picking the blitz up and picking the d apart.

While the offense has been disappointing, I am extremely disheartened by the defense.

They have been awful a good part of the year. In retrospect, they have been particularly awful on the road. I can't believe how they just let teams march down the field on them on some plays and how they sometimes just look bewildered out there.

All 7 touchdowns for the Broncos yesterday were offensive. They had over 500 yards of total OFFENSE. Its not like they had great field position all afternoon either. They started out deep in their territory most of the second half.

I just think the defense is grossly underachieving. They were always responsible for keeping the Eagles in games because, historically, our offense has always started off slow. It seemed like our offense always fed off our defense. If they D wasn't playing well, the offense got down on themselves. Not to say that something like that should happen, but its just a trend I'm depicting.

Bottom line is the D needs to get it together. If not its going to be a long season.

This thread gave me a headache after the first 3 words. But being that I can't keep my mouth shut, here are my thoughts.

1. There is a part of me that's happy they lost. That is the same part of me that enjoys being right more than it enjoys being happy. No run game = losing team, which I've been screaming at the top of my lungs for two years. It does give me some (false) hope that they will make adjustments and go into FedEx ready to whomp some ass. Possibly wishful thinking, but a long week and a solid ass-whooping should allow them to be prepared.

2. Anyone that says that this team can't win without TO and Westbrook is farging delusional. TO is destroying this team. He's emotional, but it's all negative. He's talented, but his presense completely negatively impacts our play-calling. He has brought this team's chemistry to all-time lows and has drained the fire from his teammates. IGY is 100% right on this. If you don't think he's negatively impacting this team you aren't paying attention. Westbrook needs to shut his goddamned mouth and if he doesn't he'll be gone and the team will go on. He is a nice weapon to have and is capable of exciting things, but if they aren't even going to hand him the ball he's useless. They won with some schmucks back there in the past and they can do it again.

3. The front 7 is miserable. Not just below average. I think our DTs are average. Our DEs are awful. So bad that I don't even know how to properly express it. Our LB corps is almost as bad as the DEs and would be worse if Trotter wasn't so good at stuffing the run... oh wait, they let two guys run for over 100 yards yesterday, Trotter sucks too. The personel on that side of the ball is so far below what it should be that I'm surprised they have been able to tackle anyone this year.

4. Let Westbrook return kicks. And punts. Stop this farging around already. The blocking is terrible, but those stiffs returning the ball couldn't find a crease if there was hair around it.

I just wanted to say congratulations to the Eagles Defense.  They've become the first team in NFL history to allow a 300 yard passer and two different 100-yard rushers in the same game.

Kudos!  :yay
