Updating a previous report, Bob Kent, of PhiladelphiaEagles.com, reports Philadelphia Eagles PK David Akers (hamstring) could begin practicing this week and might play during Week 8. "If Akers is not back this week, he'll be back the next," head coach Andy Reid said. When asked if Akers will practice this week, Reid said, "We'll see. I think within the next few weeks here, he should be able to work it out." Akers has been sidelined with a hamstring injury.

If he starts this week it makes no sense. This could be a very close game in Denver. We can't have him missing easy FGs.

The problem is he's on the team at all. My money is on Akers getting hurt again, and I'd rather have France over this guy when it happens.

Maybe you signed him to protect Akers from doing kickoffs. He was with Minnesota as a kickoff guy, if I remember right.

I agree with that. Instead of keeping France and giiving Akers a few more weeks to heal up, we could potentially get him hurt again and be stuck with farging Cortez.
