What the hell was that crap with the fire alarms?? That thing was loud as hell, the loudest thing I heard the whole game over the TV.

General_Failure

Well, you figure it has to be heard over 64,000 screaming people. I thought it was humorous that it only went off while the Chargers offense was on the field.

He wants the contract.

Earn it.

I'd put handoff to Gordon at the top of your list.

He would have just run into the back of Fraley and fell over like he's been doing all year.
I thought that's why we picked up Gordon.

Oh wait... what am I thinking? We did throw the ball to Gordon on that 4th and 1.

Handoff to Westbrook.
Handoff to Gordon.
Handoff to Moats with his loopy ass.
Handoff to Mahe (OK, maybe I'm going a little overboard).
QB sneak by the "Herniated One".

- all better options than to throw on 4th and 1 from your own 30 with 3 minutes to go. Andrews and Runyan surely could've cleared out 1 yard.

I'd put a handoff to Gordon at the top of your list.

Fire siren during game was false alarm

By Jeff McLane

INQUIRER STAFF WRITER

There was a false alarm at Lincoln Financial Field this afternoon and it had nothing to do with what was happening on the field.

The Eagles led the San Diego Chargers, 10-7, late in the third quarter when an alarm sounded in the club suite level, which holds private boxes and the press box area.

At first, it sounded like a new cheer added to the Linc's sound system, but then a voice came over the public address speakers asking for an orderly exit from the level's inhabitants.

Apparently very few left - dismissing the alarm as false - and the attention shifted back to the game, as the Chargers took the lead, 14-10.

"Had it been more serious, even the big screens would have had a message urging everybody to leave," Eagles spokeswoman Bonnie Grant said. "All the security would have been alerted to escort everyone out of the stadium."

There was a brief delay on the field as referee Ron Winter spoke on the sideline with a woman from the fire department and with Chargers head coach Marty Schottenheimer.

"The message was quickly relayed that it was a false alarm," Grant said.

We've been over this. The networks don't do a good job picking up crowd noise at the Linc.

The loudest I personally have ever heard The Linc was at the MNF game last year when we played the Vikes.

Today it was double that. I shtein you not. It was loud there.

General_Failure

I lost my voice, so I did my part. :)

Maybe I should have posted that a little different. I have no doubt the fans were loud, you could hear them on the tube also.

I reiterate, the alarm was the second loudest thing I heard on the tube.

I remember the only game I've seen at the Linc, the Ravens game last year, and I couldn't even hear my son in the seat right next to me hollering in my ear. The Linc has to be one of the loudest stadiums in the NFL.

General_Failure

It can still get louder. The lower bowl doesn't really make as much noise as it should.

My friends and I were cracking up when the cameras showed the stands while the alarm was going off and no one was leaving. I said it would have to be a terrorist attack to get anyone to move from their seats right now. It's Philly for crying out loud.

General_Failure

Even then, the evacuation wouldn't have gone quickly.

shorebird

Yeah, most fans would probably be beating the crap outta' the terrorist.

I'm at work and some of my coworkers have said that for some reason, the newsroom was the loudest they ever heard it.  ;D

Two people actually ran over to me thinking I needed help during the blocked FG.  :-D
