No.  I wouldn't mind the Eagles adding Price into the mix.  I question how the depth chart would round out, and I think it is a move with it that carries a lot more risk.

I'd rather the Eagles add a guy like McCants at this point.  Price would be OK too, though, but out-of-profile for this front office... so much so that I still think there is zero chance Price will be the guy.

I think it'll be McCants too... and I definitely see the positives about it.  It bothers me that he's not a WCO guy and that seems out-of-profile for the FO in itself but... I guess we just see the shaking of the depth chart differently.  IMO, competition hurts no one (Other than maybe at QB)... while it helps the team.  It ensures the best players are out there.  Let's face it.  That's what we all want.  If Wilbur proved to be more of a weapon than Lewis, we wouldn't give two sheets about Greg dropping down the depth chart.  I don't see the harm in letting a proven guy come in and compete and let Lewis and Brown prove that they deserve the positions that honestly, they have because of circumstance.  Let's remember that while Greg was being given an increased role in the O, he wasn't slated to be a starter.  Don't get me wrong though.. I don't mean that as a shot ant Greg and Reggie because I actually have  a good amount of confidence in them.  It's just the "What If" factor, I guess.  What if Price, already with experience in the WCO comes and shows that he was a victim of having to deal with Vick throwing the ball on a run first team.  IMO, both Price and McCants will increase the depth of the WR corps.  I just see Price as potential to do more by making us better at the top of the chart as well as the bottom.  I'm not saying let him start... I'm saying make him come here and earn it just like anyone else.  AR tells just about every FA that they'll have to earn their job, the same can go for Price.

We all know they won't pay a ton of money for him... so we could be outbid for him.  Doesn't mean that it's a bad idea to look his way like some folk have implied.

Y'know what?

I'm NOT fine with signing McCants!  How the hell are we supposed to defend signing this corny MF'er?!  :-\ :boom

Apparently Vai is reporting that the Eagles will sign McCants if McMullen struggles again tonight and is released.  Vai is usually wrong though...

i just realized, i dont like that half of our recievers have the same names as half of our defensive backfield.

I'm having trouble reading this sentence and making it make sense.

I got that one wrong in my SAT's.

We could just re-sign Fred-ex now that he's an ex-Chief.  :-D

PhillyandBCEagles

Price had a crash course in something vaguely resembling the WCO in Atlanta last year, so in that regard he'd have a slight leg up on McCants.

From the blurbs at the bottom of Dave's column:

QuoteThe Eagles acknowledged that they worked out wide receiver Darnerian McCants, the former taterskins wide receiver, on Wednesday. The Eagles said the workout went well, that they likled his size and ability to get down the field and go up for passes. Still, there is no word on a contract offer or agreement, as has been reported.

PhillyPhreak54

Both the DN & Inky report that McCants will be signed today or tomorrow once cuts are made.

SD_Eagle5

I guess Comcast is reporting that McCants was 'officially' signed today and that there's a trade with the Phins in place for Gordon. We're supposedly giving up a 3rd?  ??? :boo
