Flexibility/insurance at 2 positions from scrimmage: WR & CB
Quick & shifty in space, which makes him effective on ST & in the slot, both receiving and in coverage
Good YAC ability-- can make guys miss

After our starting 3 WR's & McCants, nobody else in this camp has impressed enough to deserve the 5th WR roster spot over Redd.

Redd also makes Mahe even more expendable than he already should be, thus clearing a deserving spot for Bruce Perry, while freeing a 4th RB position for a bigger FA roster cut, such as Lamar Gordon or Chris Fuamatu-Maafala.
