Greg Lewis routes

Cornerback Sheldon Brown believes that Philadelphia's Greg Lewis runs the best routes of any receiver in the league, which shouldn't be so surprising. Just last season, Eagles safety Brian Dawkins  said when Lewis ran on the scout team, he provided the best looks of any receiver he faced in practice.

It's still a compliment, but in todays Brown's Blog, he said this:

The media only have a short period of time in the locker room or around the team and then they go out and write about how things are going within the team. How can they make that assessment when they are in the locker room for only 45 minutes? A lot of times, what you read is not an accurate portrayal of what is happening inside here.

"Adam Schefter from The NFL Network said the other night on the air that 'Sheldon Brown said that Greg Lewis is one of the best route runners in the NFL.' Correction. I said, 'he may be' one of the best. He has the talent to be. He is improving every day. I have to go out and face every wide receiver in the NFL, so I know what each guy I'm facing is going to think about.

I can't wait to see Lewis and Brown in the regular season with 81 taking a lot of the attention.

All you read and hear about Lewis are good things. You could see it last year, his speed and ability to get open. This kids a diamond in the rough, ready to shine this year.

Hope so...but he strikes me as being average to marginally above average.  I'll take that, though.  I just don't hold delusions of grandeur for him.
