I hate it when that icehole is rational and makes sense.

EXACTLY what I was thinking when I read it.

There was a hostage situation/bomb threat around the corner tonight. Only two helicopters covering it.

Geeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez... I work all day and come home to this?  :-D

Man, TO could fit right in with my middle school classes.  Talented and petulant- equally spectacular and abhorrent.

I hope that it can ultimately work out to keep TO on the team this season, but I am starting to gravitate towards the belief that his antics will do more to hurt the team than his talent will to help the team.

If Warrick is released, he could come fairly cheaply.  TO will probably not take a threat to suspend him for the season seriously with the current corps of wide receivers.  If we could add a good one, Reid could more effectively hold the threat over his head.

I would love if the Eagles could arrange some kind of highway robbery of Pittsburgh to get Ward for TO.  I know it isn't going to happen, but even without the Owens' theatrics I would love that trade.

Is there a possibility of signing another RB, one that could take the power-load, and line Westbrook up more at WR?  Westbrook at WR could be a leathal weapon.

All this, however, is mere speculation.

The media coverage is crossing the line from just annoying to bizzarre.  TO isn't that important.  This coverage is just plain silly.   :-D

No use looking to bring people in unless we are certain TO won't be here. The Eagles need to make that decision in the next 48 hours or so, because we can't let another team pick up Warrick if he's cut before we decide if TO is here or not. If he gets picked up and then TO comes back wednesday and is a pain then we have no fall back plan.

Offseason needs: 2 DEs, 1 DT, 1 OL, 2 LBs, 1 RB, 2 WRs, 1 TE, 1 KR.

I don't necessarily agree with that.  We did lose Pinkston and while I'm still not impressed with what he's done the last 2 years, he was a body that is no longer there.  With the inexperience the Eagles have at reciever right now I think they should be scouting for some veteran talent to fill the void.  Whether you lose a starting receiver or a back up, the spot still needs to be filled by someone else.

I heard this a couple of hours ago on the radio and come here now and 17 pages worth of posts...

With Pinky already gone, I think they could pick up Warrick with the roster they have.  Could be planning ahead for a TO-less team, or even just as an insurance policy for the possibility.

Even if they're sure TO will be back for the year, Warrick could be a good pick-up for a WR this season, and for the eventuality of TO's departure, which is appearing more and more certain before that roster bonus comes due.

I came here to get away from my hobby. I hadn't blinked in a couple hours.

Well so you guys are saying we should pick him up right away regardless? Yea, I guess you could do that, but then if you get into a bidding war with another team and he disappoints then you spent money on someone you have no use for. Warrick will get a better deal than the Tai Streets of the world. Simply for the fact that he was good in college. Some team out there will have interest IMO.

More like a situation where a team offers him _____ and the Eagles have the choice to up their offer. Not back and forth back and forth jacking the price up to 50 million dollars, but in all negotiations, agents tell teams what is out there and if they are willing to do something better.

Never confuse what I say with expert analysis.  ;D

The Phreaks, BigEds, PGs and even IGYs have more info than I can provide.

All I can supply is idle speculation and innuendo.

I'm getting a talk show on ESPN16½ next month.  >:D

QuoteI am by no means somebody with an "inside the Eagles" connection, but I do know several agents who are also practicing attorneys and believe mew when I tell you the whole NFL community chatters and gossips like high school chicks. LOL.

I also have a few buds still up in NJ and PA who know the families of present and past players well.

OK, from the bits and pieces I got, mixed with media info, here goes:

1.I had heard previously through the grapevine the FMitchell revelation on Howard Eskin today about the TO rift with McNabb starting LAST year. From TO's side, he started getting less looks the last 3 games before he was hurt. He wasn't happy as a decoy. Then when he got hurt, he didn't take kindly to McNabb saying they didn't need TO to win the SB. It didn't smack of the kind of a$$ kissing TO craves.

2.TO wants to play for the Jets. He wants NY, and Rosenhaus thinks they are big spenders and want to make a move to catch New England. TO would hate rag armed Pennington, but has NAMED Pennington this off season as a "QB he'd love to play for." If there is a trade of TO, and it ends up being the Jets-you heard it here first. Plus, Herm Edwards has a good relationship with the "new" NFL player (translation: Herm's team is run by the inmates and TO knows this)

3.Reid did not send TO home because he wouldn't sign autographs. The big issue (GCobb is plugged in) was the UNAUTHORIZED practice by TO running near full speed on his day OFF. It was shoving up Andy's can while the cameras were running.

4.The autograph thing is--some EAgles players who also hate to sign (they all do when they are tired-it blows) were P*SSED they had to do it while showboat was off in fantasyland. Reid mentioned his teammates were signing it and he's no better and if he's not sitting out he needs to be in the tent. TO went off. He took it as Reid saying he was jaking it.

Reid said if you are able to go and run full speed, you need to be with your teammates. TO said you are just mad because I'm not talking (translate: to McNabb ect). Reid said to shut up. TO did NOT curse from what I hear, but told Reid to shut up back in defiant fashion. Reid then ran him off for a week. There was no miscommunication-TO knew and knows he was suspended for 7 days. he didn't leave, he was given the boot. Privately, some players feel for TO and are not happy. But the vast majority were secretly cheering like its about time. They are feeling dissed becuase like 13 of them are former or present pro bowlers, and its all TO all the time. They have egos too.

5.Rosenhaus wants NOTHING to do with this thing. Basically, he took a hit in his rep. some over TO, and doesn't think he'll earn ANY coin for his trouble unless and until TO gets dumped or traded. He'd love that, but he can't be perceived as ORCHESTRATING it or he's screwed with most NFL front offices who are watching closely. DR just wants to focus on easier money for now, and will get TO paid well when he is cut for sure after this year.

6.Privately the Eagles brass are not concerned to panic level becuase they know a vet WR, through FA or cuts, will shake free and they are cool with GLu and the vet as starter, and Brown as a #3. They will flex out Westbrook more, and use Moats more too.

I found the Pennington thing interesting because... Have you guys ever seen that show on ESPN2 with FunkMasterFlex hooking up cars for sporst celebs? Not the one that he does on SpikeTV, but ESPN2 was running a similar show.

FMF did a car for TO and delivered it to him in ATL. They were playing catch in his yard and FMF asked him about QBs who he would like to play with. He didn't mention Donovan, but said Trent Green (must be listening to his boy Freddie) and Chad Pennington.

This was on sometime in June on ESPN2 late one night...
