anyone ever play the one really old football game where you picked a play and then a screen showed X's and O's that ran it? it was out in 84/85ish. i used to love that game. i played as CHI all the time, the HB sweep was a killer, #34CHI....we'd play it to see who'd break 1000 yards in one game. i did it twice.

Mike Ditka Power Football, the only football game you need. It had a cutscene for field goals and calypso music.

The man. The myth. The legend.

suck it up nancys.  If you want an easy game you can go into settings and turn the vision cone off,
Its pretty easy for me.

im starting to get the hang of it now.  the truck stick on offense is awesome! theres nothing better than running over two defenders on your way to the endzone.  i happened to be playing against the eagles in the superstar mode and I ran over Trotter with my receiver and hes gone for the year with a "severe concussion"  :-D :paranoid
anyway i got the roster memory card for ncaa 06 and i plan on starting the heisman race in ncaa 06 as well as franchise for madden 06.  i can upload the rosters to madden then with real college players instead of fake ones.  sweetness :yay

one thing i've found to be an issue is punt returns.  seems 99% of the time I go to return a punt there is a guy ready to crush me as soon as I catch it which results in a lot of fumbles.  So fair catching seems to be a must far to often.   :boo

just go adjust the "CPU Punt Length" slider. that happened to me last year, fixing the slider worked wonders and made it more realistic.

I fargin hate that too!   :boom

Anyway I played last night and am starting to really like the pass cone.  I especially like it on defense, you know where the ball is gonna go then.  I try to switch lineman and swat the ball and or switch to the DB thats in the area.

Ill give that a try, Wingspan.  What exactly does it do?

Wingspan

it gives your opposition punter more strength, and they'll punt it an extra 5-10 yards, giving you a little more room for a realistic return.

like i mentioned. i found the same thing in 2005...and the punter slider fixed it.

last night i tried the superstar thing... turned myself into a QB and got drafted by the Rams in the top of the 3rd round.   Terrell Davis is the mentor and I got an agent who wants to use me for publicity.  Interviewed with Rich Eisen on NFL total access, tried to get me to say that I was gonna take over and make Marc Bulger be the backup.  ha!

I guess it jsut takes a little getting used to.
Also, they have a preset controller configuration that is the same as madden 2005 if  you're lazy like me and don't want to learn a new controller configuration.

you'll get it down eventually, ive noticed ive improved already.  one way to improve is to practice throwing ALOT.  In superstar mode u go through training camp, two practices a day.  I would pick pass plays because i created a wide receiver, to amp up his skills.  im starting to get it down now.

Just tried it last night for the first time. The raiders have a sweet running game. Fargas in a maniac on the field with 94 speed and surprising toughness. Lamont Jordan rolls over people. Next to the Eagles, that's my favorite team on the game. Detroit has a nice running game with Kevin Jones. They feel pretty good. The Jets feel good as well...with a good D.
I said watch the game and you will see my spirit manifest.-ILLEAGLE 02/04/05
