just picked mine up at toys r us.  i walked into the game section and they had a display of the game to play.  i picked it up and it was the eagles vs falcons.  first play i sent glewis deep, touchdown!  anyway its similar, but the passing vision thing was fargin with me.  they had a deal, reserve the game and get a wireless remote control for 10$-so i bought it.  basterds.  can't wait to finish up work, crack a beer and play.

Most reviews rate it lower than the previous years. I think a lot of people are slowly but surely starting to agree with me that they just leave too much of the game unchanged each year. It never has a fresh feel. It feels like you are playing the same exact game, even with the editions. I mean actual gameplay wise.

I picked up my copy at lunch today have yet to play it but I am about to.  As far as the reviews I have to say that I am not suprised, personally I didn't think last years version was that great.  I do think that the new NCAA is a vast improvement over last years, if Madden did the same I will be happy.

So the first year of the monopoly isn't turning out to be a big win for the consumer, huh?  Lame game, high price?  I for one am shocked.  Shocked.

Who gives a damn what some schmuck says on a gaming site.

I prefer to form my own opinion.

For Madden 2005 we saw significant improvements made on the defensive side of the ball. Hot routes for DBs and linebackers made defensive play significantly more versatile and adaptive, and fortunately, helped prevent the opponent from continually working you over with those money plays that are somehow effective every time. No significant changes were made on D for 2006 so expect the same options available for this year's model.

I think the improved manlock feature is a huge change. You can't motion or go 3 or 4 wide to tell if the D's in man or zone anymore. There's also DB shading which can take away slants and corners. Cover 2 zones play much tougher and if you jam a bigger Wr with a small CB the CB will fatigue very fast. Same with small RB's like Westbrook, I found it very hard to keep him on the field. The cone is very challenging, but realistic. I could see major differences in this game from 05' version. Yeah, its still madden, but I like madden. If I want a whole new feel, I'll buy a different game...like nfl2k6  ;)

I decided not to get the game a long time ago. I don't care what a game review says, but I'm not shelling out another 50 bucks for a game that is the same as 2005 except for 2 little additions. I don't know if you've played the ESPN/2k series but every year they made the game a whole lot better, while keeping the things that made it successful in the process. If you really want I could go in depth about why I am tired of Madden and why I decided to skip it this year, but to summarize every year it feels exactly the same. Basically it's paying 50 bucks for updated rosters and schedules. The in-game play is exactly the frickin same. The same tackle animations, the same player sizes, player movements, catching animations, trash-talking, player movement animations. There is a lot more than that, and it's a shame the ESPN series is over for now because 2k5 was much better than Madden 05. Now that Madden owns the market it can get lazy because lack of competition. The next title will be on Xbox 360 and PS3 though, so this may be just a stepping stone before the big amazing new title, but I'm not holding my breath.

Fire pits would be pretty cool.

there was a game called "Mutant League Football" for the Sega Genesis.  It was pretty sweet.  One of the teams had a defensive player named Reggie Fright.

I just took a break from playing all afternoon.  My wife wants to kill me but i cant stop.  I'm very pleased that they added the Truck hit or giving the RB the ability to lower his shoulder and truck over someone.  Buck and Moats are pretty good at it.  The precision passing is very sensitive and this year you cant adjust the sensitivity.  Im very pleased so far except Cole didnt make the roster.  Dio, Calvin Armstrong's computer generated picture looks like a heroin addicted Eminem  :P  Overall if your a madden fan youll be buying it anyway.
