I think the question should read:

More losses: Eagles in next 5 years or PSU in 2005?

That would be fairly amusing if it made any sense whatsoever and was not a blatant attempt to kiss PG's arse.

I see them going 5-6 in this scenario.  The Purdue game is the swinger.   Either way, if they lose five games or six, that's still more than the Eagles are going to lose.

No way they lose to Northwestern, the only guarenteed loss on that schedule is at Michigan.  I also don't see them losing to Wisconsin or Michigan State neither one of those teams are that strong this season.

Northwestern was 5-3 last year in the Big Ten.  PSU was 2-6.  Yet there's no way they lose to them?

Also - has Penn State really improved that drastically to be taken seriously when playing the likes of Michigan, OSU, & Wisconsin?

I just don't see it.

I think the good money is on them beating Purdue (homecoming, I'll be there!) and Northwestern.  People forget that PSU's defense was nearly unbeatable last year and underestimate the difference a healthy "veteran" offensive line and NO ZACK MILLS will make.

I agree the Purdue game is a "swinger", so that leaves them with 4-5.  The Eagles should probably go 12-4 or 13-3, so if you think they will lose in the Super Bowl, they're even money.  I think they'll win, which is why I'd narrowly pick the Eagles in this wager.

They play three cupcakes the first three games and then have to go to Northwestern and play a real opponent.

That's really the main reason I see them losing that game.

Also - homecoming or not, the fact is they might be focused on playing Wisconsin the following week instead of keeping their attention glued to Purdue they way they should be.

I think they'll be focusing on Purdue because it's a game they should win.  If you've never been to a PSU game, especially Homecoming, the crowd is like the 12th AND 13th man.  I will be at the Rathskellar for at least 10 hours the day before and plan to pre-game a la Eagles/Panthers.  Pour some sugar on meeaaahhhh!

Where is that video?

That's nothing to be proud of.  It just means you're old.

That was last season, Northwestern lost some key contributors to that team namely Noah Herron.  As far as Wisconsin I look for this to be a down season for them they lost a ton of key players.  Davis, James, Leonard, and Hawthorne to name a few.

There is no doubt Michigan and OSU are good,as is Iowa.  As far as PSU having to improve drastically, I disagree due to the reasons I stated previously.

I truly believe both will be about the same in the loss column this year and if that number is around 3 or 4 both would have had sucessful seasons.

Maybe, but I saw Miami Vice when it first aired and you didn't, so there.

No way in hell they look past Purdue they may be as good as any team the Big Ten has to offer.  I am confident PSU will win because for whatever reason they always beat Purdue.  That being said Purdue only really lost Orton and Stubbefield which would seem huge but they got Kirsch and a stable of WRs.
