Actually, I'm finding it hard to understand that there will be THAT many cops in the area to enforce a perimiter that large.

Security will be tighter than a Bush visit to Baghdad.

I'm surprised that there won't be a parade of Mummers down to it.

Two favorite memories include one from over two decades ago.
A co-worker of mine at a liquor store that I worked at in California was from Del.Co. It was October of 1980 and the WS was happening.Gary was so jazzed about the Phillies actually being in it and then to have them win, he just went nuts.I don't think I've ever seen any ex-pat go so crazy over his team winning a championship as I did with him.

Second favorite memory was the 2000 playoff victory over the Bucs. I brought my wife to the game, her first football game ever. I helped us to bond with our newly adopted city.
The house was built by players like  ,  [Joyner], [Brown], [Simmons]," he says. "They set that legacy of Eagles defense, then passed it on to us and we built from it. Now, it's their turn to uphold the reputation."- TV

Well, MURP and I headed down to the Vet today just to see it standing one more time. Knowing that I will never drive by it again made me cry (and yes, MURP made fun of me for it...lol).

Took some pictures for those who can't be there:

Danger

We'll miss this place

The famous shot with the skyline

View from the street

From the Spectrum Steps

From Pattison

I'll miss it

Last ramp standing

Good old gate A

Rocky and the Vet

Another pic of Rocky taking his last glances of the Vet

Remember walking all the way up these?

And these?

It was a dump, but it was our dump  :'(

To the Penthouse we go! (if the elevator worked)

May you rest in peace Veterans Stadium.  :'( :'( :'(

Thanks for the pics, PG  :yay  :'(

The Vet, as it stands now, reminds me of a poor mans Roman Coliseum.

Nice pics

I'm not as sad anymore, just feel kinda weird. This is the Vet's last night standing..gonna be kinda weird parking where the Vet used to stand.

3 hours and 10 minutes until it goes down. :(

PhillyPhreak54

50 minutes left....

It will take 62 seconds to go down
It will take 9 seconds for us to see anything start falling.

Two celebrity blaster will push the plunger. CBS3 thinks it will be Carlton & Schmidt.

I've been up since 4...had a dream that I was there and I was sad and woke up. I can't believe how hard this is hitting. I'm such a Hoyda. :-[

It would be fitting if it refused to fall correctly or if they hit the dynamite and it still was standing.

Crying my eyes out like a 2 year old baby.  :'( :'( :'( :'(

That was the saddest thing I've ever seen. We were just there a few months ago watching the Phillies last ever game and listening to the Eagles/Bills game on the walkman.

The aftermath pictures are sad and eerie. REALLY eerie.

I stood at my front door on the front steps and heard the whole thing.

Rest in Peace Veterans Stadium. :'( :'( :'(
