Damn. That's startling. It makes the area look naked. :(

Sus, I posted that same pic of the sign yesterday. It was so sad to see that sign sitting there.

Thanks for the pics.  :'(

The funniest thing of the whole Comcast broadcast, which I taped, was the dude yelling "farg YOU!!"
My daughter was us watching it with me and she thought that was pretty funny too.

I've only been in Philly 5 years, but I am a sentimental sort and the slow crumbling of the exoskeleton left me with a lump in my throat. I realize that there are so many memories that mean so much to so many people that it's hard not to feel sad.

Ah, Bring on April 12!

The two guys on Fox 5 NY spent about ten minutes ripping the vet, philly and then of course the fans.   :boom
"The worst stadium ever built"
"More blown knees then anywhere else"
Then the Madden story about the cats and rats.
the concrete under the field, poor site lines, cameramen on their knees.
and dont forget the classic santa claus booing, had to get that one in there.

they can go farg themselves.

And they wonder why they take such abuse when they are down here.

Wow, caught it on ESPN, this really sucks, it was always there everytime I flew back home :'( :'( :'( I can't remember all the differen't seats I sat in at the Vet, but I will say one thing. At any other stadium I went/go to we always looked/look for a better seat in the lower levels to move down to late in the game, but not at the VET. I loved the 700 level. A quick story, I took my wife to a game there, man I think it was preseason 1995 against the falcons, we were up in the 700 level, and these college kids had on Deon Sanders jerseys. he ran a kickoff back and they were hooting and hollering jumping up and down, the EAGLES then came right back and scored, athese three or four older guys in their 40's and a little bit over served ;) came down and just lit into them, ended up in a fight with them and it was just a mess. Anyway thats the only football memory my wife has of the old girl. Her quote was "man it's only preseason, what would they have done to them if it was during the season". All I said was "exactly". Man I loved that stadium.

Thanks for the pics everyone, they are great!!

Its from 1996, written by a non-Phils fan, but the whole write up makes me feel like I'm there on a hot summer night, bright lights, 500 level, watching the Phils at the Vet....

Please...everyone is acting like someone from their family died.  It's a friggin bunch of concrete.  Regardless of how many memories we all had there, stop dwelling on the Vet.  It's time to think about all the history that will be made at the Linc in years to come.

C'mon...let's talk about something else! :-X
