The real reason is Disney cut off contributions to Desantis

The $2 billion was just the debt Disney owed which the state and surrounding counties now have to eat. The Reedy creek act lets Disney self govern. They pay for their own police/fire/zoning/roads etc. which amounts to almost $1 billion annually. Now that that's been taken away the surrounding counties will have to make up the difference. So the idiots saying Disney will now have to pay taxes (they paid $780 million in state and federal last year) don't realize the tax payers in the county will have to pay roughly $2500 more per year because of this little pr stunt. The act was created in 1967 specifically for Disney and allows Disney to cut through a lot of red tape but they didn't put up much of a fight. Part of the law I read the two counties taking on the debt have to have a majority vote so this is really just another pr stunt. But yea protecting children and Disney is in the grooming children business all the sudden. Republicans are farging wacko and getting worse by the day.

the story is not even being mentioned in right wing world. fox is talking about hunter biden...when it is brought up on a "serious" news show they dont play the audio. meanwhile mccarthy posted on gab or some maga social media and got obliterated by the cultists. so the right wing media infrastructure is trying to ignore this (trump is happy to have mccarthy be further in his debt) while the base gears up their vitriol for him.

THe daily show is hit or miss so is Trevor Noah but he crushed his 25 minutes. Some brutal inappropriate jokes which landed. If you're just doing stuff in the yard today (I am) it's worth the listen.
