50% of the 18+ pop has 1 shot...in about 2 months pretty much everyone who wants one will have gotten one

once we hit that, if you get covid that shtein is on YOU. aint my problem
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

It's your problem when, given the kind of breathing room Hitler was looking for, the virus lives so freely among the non-innoculated that a variant of it jumps the vaccine firewall.

Thanks Geo!

I've read that 5800 people total have been reported to have contracted it after full vaccination.

I wasn't considered full because I got it around the time of my second shot and you need two weeks post shot two to be considered fully vaccinated.

The data for contractions after shot one isn't easily found. But I've read a few that said the efficacy in studies ranged from 52-86%.

Crazy thing is Sarah was getting her first shot today as I was testing positive. So I called her and that's when she went to get tested too and found out right after her first shot. We don't know what'll happen to her now as far as the vaccine goes.

Her symptoms aren't as bad as mine. She has the cough and some congestion and fatigue but no smell and limited taste.

My congestion has cleared a bit but the god damn cough sucks. My smell hasn't really been affected but my taste has a little. I can taste some things but others just seem really bland.

The fatigue and sweats tho...I just took the garbage down to the curb and it feels like I've been working out for a half hour. Crazy.

How are you holding up?

PhillyPhreak54

Thanks for asking, man.

The congestion has pretty much cleared up. I still have a cough (just took some Delsym - it's been helpful) but the frequency seems to be dying down. Which is good bc the coughing fits rolled into some shortness of breath. I've been doing deep breathing exercises too to make sure my lung capacity stays up. Up until today when I'd take the deep breaths they usually would immediately trigger a coughing fit. Now I'm able to get some in.

When I was examined on Thursday my pulse/ox was 97% so I have t had any issues there thankfully. But I can definitely feel it in my lungs despite the levels being normal.

The biggest thing has been the fatigue. That shtein is next level. Last week I didn't sleep well for most of the week despite being exhausted. Last night I had my first night of solid rest in awhile. And about two hours after getting out of bed I was beat. I made it through the Phillies game and had to take a two hour nap.

I've also experienced a couple episodes of the "brain fog" that people have talked about. The best way I can describe it was after a few of my mild concussions back in the day I'd feel a little out of it or have brief moments of confusion. Wednesday evening was the worst one and I had one on Friday too. But none since so hopefully they're subsiding along with the congestion and cough.

Fingers crossed that by Wednesday or Thursday I'm on the other side of it fully. I'll go get a PCR test then and see.

Good.  Glad to hear that you're improving a bit.  shtein is scary.  Take care of yourself.

Rome

I went for dose 2 at Walgreens a little while ago.  It was closed because someone, I kid you not, drove their vehicle right through the front doors.  Thankfully no serious injuries.

Anyway, I told the guy I was there for my second dose and they opened up the side entrance for us.  Got my shot and now I'm eating a mothafarging Wawa meatball parm hoagie.

Life is great, fellas!

Rome

I was tired yesterday after the shot but I woke up with no side-effects.

Guess I got lucky.

Ted Nugent was at Seed To Table, a local grocery/restaurant owned by right-winger anti-masker Alfie Oakes, last week in a mask-less event with local politicians (including the Lee County Sheriff).

Today, Nugent announced that he has Covid.

Side note:  Yeah, Oakes financed a bus from Naples to the Jan. 6 insurrection.

Flori-duh.

EDIT:  If you want to torture yourself by watching the podcast of the event...

Ted Nugent dying gasping for air wouldn't be the worst news I've ever read.  He's a colossal piece of vile shtein.

Just learned today that he owns a condo down here.  Fits right in with a large percentage of the population.

Eat shtein, Nugent.

Warms my heart to read that article.

Talking to my sisters in a group chat about going to get my first shot tomorrow, this is how I found out my older sister is an anti-vax idiot.

There's idiot and then there's Microchips and Autism idiot. Looks like her and her husband are going right into the Fox News pipeline.

I'm not the best at keeping up with my family. I text with my mom once or twice every couple of weeks, my sisters when we need to figure out group presents. I've seen them all once in person in the last year.

My condolences.  Have fun at Thanksgiving.
