Welp... one of us turkeys was bound to lose this lottery, just from the law of averages.

I guess I'm that turkey...  Gobble gobble. 

Tested positive Saturday after having some symptoms that felt like a sinus infection.

To this point, all my symptoms have been thankfully mild.  Fever off-and-on (up to 100), a bit fatigued at times, a sporadic dry cough.   Actually, I feel a bit better today than I had yesterday.

Being a teacher (and the spouse of another teacher), living in Florida, I've been about as careful as I can be under the circumstances.  Mask everywhere public, try to keep distance as best I can.  I'll be ZOOMing with my classes as my energy level allows. Depending on how symptoms progress, I can go back in the classroom on Dec. 16.

To this point, my wife and children have tested negative.  I'm trying to keep distance, but we live in a fairly small house.  Wearing a mask in my own home sucks, but it's what we need to do right now.  My wife had a bad bout of pneumonia a few years back, so I worry about her.

Best part is that I have an answer to this question:
"What did you get for your 50th birthday?"
"COVID."

Lost taste today.  Thought I had dodged that since it didn't happen early.

shtein... still, if that's the worst thing to happen, I came out better than many.

No fever and less cough than yesterday.

10 teachers and 100 students out of my school today for COVID protocol.
