I don't know, looked pretty good to me.

Better was AOC skipping the entire thing.

we need more AOC and more ripping up of speeches.

You'll get Ben Shapiro's deepfakes and you'll like it.

The man. The myth. The legend.

Pelosi tearing up the speech wasn't a good look.

probably not...but the fox news fed mongos who live to hate pelosi are already voting for cheeto, so it won't matter in the end. dems just need to stay out of their own way & come together in nov to vote the orange buffoon out of office.

Pelosi just seemed to me to be passive-aggressive petulance.  I can see that exact footage being used in a Trump commercial ("Winning!") over and over in the coming months.

At this point I'm looking for an adult in the room, not people that remind me of being in the middle school.

I would like to see a modicum of leadership from our leaders.  It would be a nice change form the three-ring circus.  You know it's not coming from the current administration.

I agree with you on AOC.  I think that was a more compelling statement than ripping up the speech.

I want substance, not juvenile theatrics.  Maybe I'm asking for too much.

It's early, and maybe I'm being unduly pessimistic, but at this point I put Trump's re-election chances at about 60-70%.  His base is rock solid, whereas the Democratic base is divided between the AOC/Sanders crowd and the Biden/power broker base.

Iowa, acquittal and the SOTU have given Trump a huge boost this week.  It's early, but the Democrats have a lot of work to do to get their act together and present a united and viable alternative.

A purely anti-Trump vote is not going to win this election.  And the Democrats seem to be repeating a lot of their mistakes of 2016.

Normally I agree with taking the high road.

Except in this instance. Since Cheeto Dick wedged his carcass into office it has been nothing but shtein talking from their end. Not just from him but anyone who has attached themselves to him; press, MAGAts, sycophants, etc.

So after years of their straight up lying, name calling and other antics I do not mind the dems giving some back to them.

Adult in the room has been tried.  Witness the invitation to give State of the Union, and offer of hand shake.  At some point, the adult in the room needs to establish that the brat in the room is not in charge.  I'm ready for aggressive-aggressive.  Senators ought to walk out of vote.  I'd be happy to see them refuse to appear at all until after the election and instead spend that time campaigning, volunteering, and meeting with citizens of their respective States:  time spent at the Senate literally co-signs the Republican fraud.

All out political dysfunction ought to be the reaction to the Republicans.

ice grillin you

at some point the bully needs to be punched in the face....we have long passed that point

Maher had an incredible final new rule on Friday where he came up with campaign commercial against trump...The ad was perfect but what it really showed is how bad the Democrats are at this...it's all sitting out there and so incredibly easy to do yet they are apparently incapable of pulling it off

Wouldn't work in the Senate.  51 is a quorum, and the vote can take place.  Republicans have 53.

Could work in the House, but only with nearly total buy-in.  218 is the quorum, and the Republicans have 197.

Diomedes

The point wouldn't be to stop Republican action.  It would be to avoid giving their sham even the slightest appearance of normality.  Go ahead, shtein all over the Republic, we're not going to hold our noses next to you in the outhouse while you do it.

maybe they're waiting for the general, but it shouldn't be too difficult to simply put together clips of trump saying disgusting things and/or obvious lies...not to mention the tweets. hell, there's enough material there. sure, the deplorable contingent won't care & might even cheer his hateful crap...but there are some normal humans out there in 'murica who don't really pay attention to day to day politics that need to see this stuff.

Reminder that Hillary tried the "he's a scumbag" tactic with her ads.

Of course having someone with better policies that excite people behind those same ads could have been more effective.

Looks like Bernie is gonna win the popular vote in Iowa and probably leave with the same amount of delegates as Pete. Warren gonna be in a close third in delegate count.
