In the early stages, the National Socialists kept their ways and means coded and obscure, but as their power grew, they became increasingly open and direct about them.  We're on the same spectrum now.  I mean, we are always on that spectrum; the point of never forgetting is that we live with the heart of darkness beating within us...but there is movement of late in the wrong direction and not enough people speaking up.  As Rabbi Prinz said in '63 at the march on Washington, silence in the face of injustice, hatred, and bigotry is by far the greater sin than injustice hatred and bigotry themselves.
