Going in for cervical disc replacement surgery in the AM. They take the bad one out, which is pushing on a nerve and causing numbness and weakness in my arm, and put in a new one. It's not a fusion so I won't be all stiff. It's metal and has some sort of cushioning to mimic a disc.

A little nerve wracking since they go in through my throat. If it doesn't go right then at least I got to see the Eagles win a SB!

Having issues of my own in the neck.  It was pain, but lately it's more intermittent tingling in the neck and shoulder.  Guess that's an improvement!

That's exactly what I have been having. It started off in Jan and I thought it was the muscle knots from lifting and boxing. After getting massages it didn't get better. And then the weakness started. After ten weeks of PT (traction) it was still messed up. So here we are. They're doing C5/C6.

Yes sir thanks! The surgery was a success in the sense I'm alive and had no complications thus far.

My throat is sore as farg from them moving it around and the pain level overall has maintained itself in the 4-6/10 scale. Although right after it was prob the worst pain I've had in all of my injuries. But then the good stuff started flowing.

I've been pumped full of fentanyl, dilaudid and norco but still can't sleep more than an hour at a time and even then it's like 15 min on and off.

I need to get some sleep eventually. Of course the hospital tv's are out. So I'm going to read a book. I probably won't sleep until I get discharged tomorrow

Next time you need a disc replaced, buy a Nintendo Switch first.
