Such a disheartening article from a left-leaning magazine. The resultant world we help shape through the use of force, or even just isplaying our power through training exercises at the 150ish bases we have overseas, will continue to be a dismal place, reinforcing disparity instead of compassion or understanding.

Even though we've been conditioned to live in fear for decades prior to 11SEP2001, the attacks achieved their goal to further institutionalize the fear to the point that we willingly forfeited the Constitutional rights that were provided through the 4th and 5th Amendments. We became comfortable with preemptive strikes and killing specific people without a trial, showing the world, without being able to recognize ourselves, how much we truly believe in our ideals of fairness in justice. Our vigilantism is a form of terrorism.

Envision a world without such a dominating and used military. Imagine a world where we work with other countries instead of exploiting them. Dismissing such notions as naive perpetuates a world of violence.

You have to remember that since the very beginning of this country, conservatives have tried to dismantle the United States. When I was 18, I was reading about the history of the United States and I was busy reading the People's History of the United States. I had not gotten to Shelby Foote's Civil War volumes yet, so when I registered to vote, I registered as a Republican because Lincoln was who he was and I wanted to be affiliated with his party.

My ignorance of the Southern strategy that Lee Atwater implemented was entirely foreign to me but over the next few months, that ignorance was cured. When I began to really pay attention to politics, I saw men like Trent Lot and Jesse Helms as leaders of a party I could no longer stand the sight of. What I came to realize was that Republicans had two characteristics that troubled me greatly.

First and foremost, they were racists. My grandfather Clay was as racist as any Grand Dragon ever thought about *yet* he had about 10,000 jazz records. He could name every black player by just hearing a few notes. He knew the songs, who played and when they were made. He loved jazz. He also paid a black woman who worked for him for more than a decade after she retired her normal salary. The cognitive dissonance was a cultural fact that afflicts most southerners to this day.

Second and even more importantly, they were stupid. The kind of stupid that says, 'I ain't got no use for no book learnin. The only book I need is the bible.' As I've aged, my contempt for such people has become absolute.

I heard a story once about a tractor-trailer going under a low underpass and it became wedged under the railroad trusses. This caused a terrible traffic problem. The city manager came out and looked and he called the city engineers. Several tow trucks tried to wedge it out but to no avail. It was determined that the best way to end this nightmare was to get a crane to lift one of the trusses. Just as the crane arrived a little girl yelled from a car, 'let the air out of the tires'. Einstein famously said, 'the duty of genius is to simplify.'

I became a zealot after the 2000 election. It was then that I came to the realization that not only did Republicans care nothing for democracy but that they would do anything to win, including cheat and they did cheat. The reason why we have a Chief Justice Roberts is because of that cheating. The reason why Republicans hate democracy is that they cannot compete in a free and fair election. Bush didn't win the popular vote, he won in the electoral college and we now know Al Gore had the most votes in Florida. Gore's mistake was thinking that the conservative members of the Supreme Court gave a damn about democracy, they do not. They care about power and nothing more. They will lie, cheat and steal to keep it. They intend to cheat again and they're not even hiding it now.

The reason why Republicans are in a lather about the Census is they know a correct count will create new districts. More districts means they must compete and they hate competition. The sole reason for them wanting to ask if people are citizens is so undocumented people will be too afraid to answer and avoid the census workers. Republicans lie when they say, 'shouldn't we know how many citizens we have?' We do know. We have this thing called the Social Security Administration that keeps very accurate records of all the citizens in this country.

The truth is that only 18% of millennials identify as Republicans and Baby Boomers are dying at a rate of 13k per day. The base certainly does not care about this but people like Mitch McConnell know that they are facing extinction by attrition and they're not going to just take it lying down. They can and will do everything possible to sabotage the census. The Supreme Court did explicitly note that Wilbur Ross was lying to them but that doesn't matter. What matters is what's on the census questions and you can be sure Republicans will do anything possible to keep an accurate census from being taken.

Republicans have become so decrepit and abominable, they elected a dead pimp in Nevada and Duncan Hunter who was indicted on multiple counts which have shown he was using his campaign money to carry on with five affairs with women who were not his wife. What can possibly explain these people voting for a multiple felon? The answer is quite simple: Fox News.

When facts and truth are no longer of concern, the descent into chaos is inevitable and here is where we are now. We've come to the point now where every scientist on the planet is screaming the world is on fire and the Republican base wants to shove some healing crystals up their asses and put Jesus in charge. This is the price humans across the globe are going to pay because Rupert Murdoch would rather watch the world burn as he enjoys the last days of his evil existence.

Propagandists have always known that the easiest way to manipulate people is with fear. Liberals have tragically underestimated the power of Fox by thinking 'we can defeat their ideas and their hate with love and better ideas.' The need to outlaw propaganda media is absolute. Deprogramming foxbots from 20 years of brainwashing can only be cured by drastic measures.

I mention this because, after the most recent abominable decision by the conservative cowards on the Supreme Court which legalizes gerrymandering, the 2020 election will be the most consequential election in American history. 'Oh but that's what everybody says about every election.' I have no time for these malignantly stupid individuals. You may not care about politics but that doesn't mean politicians won't molest you in every conceivable way. If you're not sure about this, you can ask a woman in Alabama's jail right now who was arrested because she was pregnant and her fetus was shot by someone else.

Republicans are in full gear getting ready for the 2020 election and if they win the state houses again, they will gerrymander their maps in such a way that will keep them in power for another ten years until the next census. Republicans love minority rule and do not give a rat's ass about our Republic. Do you like religious zealots codifying their religious beliefs into law? Republicans do and they are doing exactly that wherever they can. The constitution and the republic can be damned compared to people acting on behalf of god.

I'm sorry for rambling but history has seen this movie before and it doesn't end with locking up children for $795 a day. It's exactly why Oscar Wilde said, 'All empires fall, there are no exceptions.' Orange County California has a larger population than 13 other states combined. They get only 2 senators and this is why the rest of us have to suffer under the tutelage of Mitch McConnell and dozens of other traitors who think throwing snowballs in the senate means climate change is a hoax.

If history has taught us anything it's that the only remedy for this level of corruption is bloodshed. Yesterday, Trump sat next to a man who committed an act of war against the United States and shook his hand after inviting him to interfere in our elections on his behalf, again. Republicans are openly committing felonies in full view because they brazenly have contempt for the rule of law.

We need the 70 million eligible voters who did not vote last time to vote this time because if we don't start doing things to decrease the amount of CO2 on this planet, we are going to reach the tipping point where all life on this planet is in peril. That is the threat that Republicans present us as a species with. Everyone needs to sober up to this fact as soon as humanly possible.
