Remember when I said these motherfargers were emboldened by Trump?

This is what that looks like.   They're going to ignore the testimony of credible rape victims and confirm a monster to the court, who, by the way, will absolutely destroy a woman's right to choose.

Every woman in this country should be fundamentally outraged.   Many, however, are not.  Just read a sampling of Facebook posts.  You'll see what I mean.

being hidden in all this is throw out the rape stuff the most amazing thing about yesterday is he literally admitted he was a partisan...im not stupid (well not that stupid) enough to not realize partisanship has been on the scotus for years but at least people gave the appearance that they were non partisan and would make decisions by the rule of law and precedent...this mother farger was dropping liberal conspiracy and the clintons set him up bombs...dont get it twisted he should be in jail for sexual assault but him admitting hes a schill for trump and the far right is actually more disqualifying for the court than the sex assault

If you can't count on the Manchin to vote with the party on the most consequential votes, what's the point of backing him?  Might as well cut his red ass loose and give party support to an actual liberal in WV, even if that means they lose.  Literally the ONLY reason you tolerate someone like him in the party is for when you absolutely need his vote...without that, he's worthless.

yea what dio said

so flake's move at the JC was just nonsense. now there will be a debate about the semantics of what constitutes an investigation...how thorough was it....flake will vote yes and it will still be up to the red state dems and collins/murkowski

all flake did was maybe buy a week

manchin votes with trump a little over half the time....but thats skewed because the dems dont have the congress or the white house and hes up for reelection...he voted with obama about 80% of the time

also the minute manchin goes a crazy trumper gets in and votes with him 100% of the time

i cant even believe this is a discussion but trust me a blue senate with manchin is way better than a red senate with a lunatic trumper

to be fair even if manchin wins in november the dems have easily less than a 50% chance to take it back anyway but if he loses it goes to basically zero percent chance

his entire reason for existing is to vote against these kinds of things...if he doesnt do it he can go fall into a coal mine

QuoteMURKOWSKI tells me she spoke with Flake before he made his decision in Judiciary committee and they are in agreement. She says she supports having an FBI investigation that is "limited in scope"

Limited in scope.  You know, like the Benghazi probe, or Whitewater, or...

+1000000

The push from dems to oust Manchin is so dumb.  If Manchin goes you lose a guy who votes with you half the time and replace with someone who literally votes with you none of the time.

It's the same farging nonsense from the Sanders wing of the party who didn't vote for HC because she wasn't principled enough for them.

Munson

Manchin is a big reason why we don't have a public option right now.
He's also a big reason why the ACA still somewhat exists.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Diomedes

If you're going to compromise your values so you can secure 50% support from a party member, then that figure had better vote with you on the most consequential matters.  Literally the only reason you tolerate his extreme deviation from the values that undergird your position is that when shtein comes to beef, he's with you.  It's not enough that he voted with the party on the Farm bill.  He's got to be with you on lifetime appointments to the most powerful court in the country.

There are real democrats in West Virginia who don't get party support because the DNC has decided to stick with the guy who likes Donald Trump on the big votes but supports democratic party line on smaller matters.

farg that.  Cut bait.  If it means the Republicans win WV then so be it...it's not a huge change because you already don't have his vote .

completely disagree.

No one is saying Manchin is ideal.  Run a liberal who gets 30% of the vote because it makes you feel better at the expense of potential votes that matter?  F that

Eagles_Legendz

Alabama should have run a liberal to lose to that pedophile Roy Moore rather than conservative Dem Doug Jones because it would've made liberals in Birmingham feel better about their vote at the expense of the human embodiment of cancer being in the senate?  I don't get this line of thinking (yes I'm aware Manchin is more conservative than jones but point remains).
