What he'd lose is the Speaker position, as the Republicans are going to lose the House.  And then where is he, in the minority, with Trump as his party's figurehead and no power of his own?  No thanks, says Ryan.  What 'lil guy said is spot on.  He'll step aside for a while, get rich, and come back stronger after this blue wave and Trump storm have passed.

Ya I know that.  But you're talking about Paul Ryan, Speaker of the House.  Speaker's have lost re-election campaigns, but not many.  And our brother with the facial hair is not a particularly good candidate.   I think Democrats are going to take the House but there will be particular races where they just can't get over the hump and I had Ryan pegged as one of those.

After the election, we'll see how strong the wave was and be better able to argue about whether or not it would have overwhelmed Ryan but I for one don't underestimate him.

trumps approval rating has little to do with it...the more important polls are the ones that start with "likely voters"...because the left is far more energized right now and the people who voted for trump are not...especially suburban women trump voters and voters who voted for obama and trump

if the democrats get people out its game over....their coalition is unbeatable as long as their turnout is strong and by all accounts the turnout is going to be real good this fall thanks to trump

the senate is all but done....the house is no lock but a year ago it was thought to be impossible to get the whole congress...now its not only possible but realistic

The lead story in the NYT today was basically all about Trumps sex life 10 years ago. This is their number 1 news story after the Syrian gas killings. So, who is it? If it weren't for another 4 years of Trump, I'd love to see the circus if Pelosi runs. It'd be hilarious. Clinton again? I wouldn't put it past them. It better be some no name no one has heard of. If they go with any known Democrat, most of whom do nothing nowadays but go on CNN and MSNBC talking about impeaching the POTUS or how he made some racist remark on Twitter, Trump will win again, it will happen. There are more people who are sick of hearing all these whining asses crying about Hillary losing  then there are 'energized' Dems who have no idea who it will be that'll take the White House from Trump.
