Someone at the firm left to go to a place where he isn't doing any night work and the municipalities are sticking with me.  It's more work.  We'll find out if it leads to a promotion butnits the first time I've really been the attorney directly for municipalities/represent them at the council meetings etc.

The borough that squaw works in as a pig has an absolutely wretched borough council and their attorney is a farging douche canoe.  Since he is the only borough council attorney I've ever met in my life, I'm just going to assume you're cut from the same cloth, which sucks, because 5 minutes ago I thought you were cool.

My mother was comptroller of various small towns in NE for most of her career.  She regularly told us stories about how farged the town was, but for one good lawyer, who saved the entire town untold troubles and money, simply by being competent and present.

Best of luck to you.  I don't doubt you'll do well, though I'm sure you'll recognize that's not much of a compliment considering the competition.  Back handed compliments aside, good stuff.

I am mentoring a new teacher this year, and had to observe her Algebra class as a part of her final evaluation.

While I was trying to figure out her lesson, it occurred to me that I had taken Algebra in 1984.  And struggled to remember any of it.

Not sure if I felt more old or more dumb.

I sure as shtein couldn't do it. I hated algebra and calc and haven't used either really in 20 years. farg that shtein!

If you've used abstract thinking at all, then you've used algebra and calculus.  The point of teaching that shtein isn't to make you process math problems like a computer, it's to teach you how to think.
