Probably going to take some time to hone his broadcasting skills. Wouldn't expect him to be very good out of the gate. Then again, Simms has had like 20 years to get good and he still sucks. Should be a mild improvement to start, hopefully after a year or 2 he gets really good.

I've seen him guesting on things and I think I've even seen him join guys in a booth before. He's already far better than Simms.

i was saying that if cbs was going to move on simms it was going to be now...they have the super bowl in 2 seasons, so that would give romo nearly 50 games under his belt before a broadcast in front of 120 mil.

surprisingly there is no audition tape for him. cbs is just giving him this. i had figured there was one, quite the leap but like everyone said simms was so terrible im willing to give this a shot.

I find it amazing he's being given the #1 color slot without five minutes of experience.  I really don't give a shtein either way because it's not like the eagles are on CBS that often anyway.

It's a very difficult job.  I've known Evan Washburn for years.  The work he has put into doing his job is pretty amazing.  Untold hours practicing and practicing, pouring over game film, reading boring shtein.  If Romo ends up being any good, it won't be just natural, he'll have to work at it.
