I spent 6 months in Bremerton/Seattle, wasn't a fan. But Pikes Place Market is a cool spot.

Haha...you've been to Penis Anus.  Bremerton is a shtein hole, but Seattle is a pretty cool town.  Definitely not for everyone and the weather from Sept through May farging blows.

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Do it. Book it.

It's a farging blast. Havas needs to come too. Matt can be your travel buddy.

I'll be there 15-21 March

Interesting little Vegas trip

Arrived around midnight Wednesday. Texted with Matty and we both were talking about taking it easy so as not to be zombies for the early Thursday games.

I ended up getting blackout drunk. So much for that plan. Lost money that I didn't realize I lost until I woke up around noon Thursday.

Had missed calls from my best friend and my company VP. My boss was hospitalized with chest pains. Can you come back plz? We need you to run the Friday afternoon P&L meeting (it was our branch's turn to lead). We will pay for your flight changes and any other costs incurred along with a new flight back out when you want.

Left Vegas after barely 24hrs. Ended up winning $700 on yesterday's games. Feel like death warmed over. I may sleep for 12 hours tonight.

That is the saddest farging story I've heard in a while.

In all my time in the military, I was never asked (ordered) to end my vacation early to return to work.  In fact, I don't personally know of anyone who was brought back early from leave other than 9/11...understandably so.

During my 2 years working in the civilian sector I was asked to come back early twice and told my boss to farg off both times.  Vacation time is precious and in very limited supply.  If the military was actively involved in fighting 2 wars for 8 years and could still survive without ruining people's vacations, then whatever corporate shtein stain you work for can get by without you for 96 hours.

I would be annoyed if this were any other company but they're really good to us (and me). When my mom had cancer back in 2011 they let me go home for two months no questions asked. Paid me in full and let me work whenever I could remotely.

Since I'm now second in command there and was told a couple weeks ago that I'm the guy likely to succeed my boss when he retires I figure it's good I come back. Now obviously the fact that they're paying for all costs incurred plus future costs helps soften the blow. Also worked an extra week paid vacation for this year too out of the deal.

Rome

In my gig attendance is mandatory during emergencies.  No questions asked.  Show up.  That's it.   I had damages to my house and my boss called me and gave me an extra day to button it down.

Class act.

The fact that they gave you an additional week is nice. The fact that they couldn't get through a meeting without you is kind of scary though.  But hey, good on ya for at least getting something in return besides them paying for your travel...which they're obligated to do anyway.
