Kenny Stills, Pryor, Jeffery will all be "overpaid." I put that in quotes because value is whatever someone is willing to pay. I think the term "overpaid" is one of the most overused terms in the sports language, and is really only realized once the contract is over when you can then evaluate if they earned the money or not.

The most "affordable" WR might be DeSean Jackson. He didn't have a big market for him when he was 27 and cut by the Eagles, I don't see one for him now. I think he'll get a very similar deal he got last time. 3 years averaging about 8-10 million per season.

The problem with the Eagles is if they don't sign a difference maker at WR, then what? The WR draft class isn't very strong. Do you really want to draft yet another WR in the first round? Especially one like Mike Williams who doesn't project to be a true #1? Also, by doing that you'd most likely be passing up a top caliber CB prospect, since the draft is loaded at the position.

Do you spend a decent chunk of your cap space on a Robert Woods type? As in a cheaper guy who is better than what you have but still not very good? The Eagles WRs are terrible, but if there is any silver lining, it's that they make no money at all. If you spend on a guy like Robert Woods or Cordarrelle Patterson, you will still have terrible WRs, but the difference is you'd be paying them actual money.

You can't sit out free agency and then just pick a couple WRs in the 4th or 5th round. That would be an injustice for Wentz. I know it may not be the best allocation of resources, but if you weigh all the options, overpaying for a guy may be the best in a situation where only bad options exist. Because all the other options have you risking Wentz's development, and that is the biggest no-no for the Eagles. I'd much rather risk the Eagles cap situation than risk Wentz's development if I had to choose.

No doubt they have to sign a WR or two. I'd be fine with Alshon or having Pimp come back. I just don't want them dusting off a ton of cap on Kenny Stills or someone like him

Rome

They have bigger problems than WR.  Spending a ton on any of the FA's available would be stupid, so of course, look for the Eagles to make a splash.

think they will/can go after bouye ? or do the ghosts of asomugha and maxwell make you cringe at the thought of them trying ?

you cant "reach" on a wr just because the class isnt deep however at the same time there are going to be starting corners available to at least round three...so if a williams or davis (i farging love davis) is there in the first i think you probably go for it and wait on the corner
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

igy gettin it done like warrick

im the board pharmacist....always one step above yous

How about they just get the most talented football player at every draft slot for a change?

I mean they've done the "character-culture" thing, they've done the "draft for need" thing and they've done the "we're smarter than everyone" thing.  How about just this once they take raging athletic monsters regardless of the other bullshtein?

Would anyone here really be upset by that?

I want Philadelphia Eagles players who read Rousseau and Kant in their spare time.  I can has?

Let's face it, it's the Eagles. The #1 draft pick will just be another drooling Benthamite.

without making any further cuts, the eagles will have around 12 mil to spend

theyll be able to do some things once they get rid of hipster barwin and IR mathews, but it looks like they couldnt afford alshon if they wanted to.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

All I know is I got Kant, Locke and tortured puns in successive posts.

I'm good with whatever happens now.

Mike Williams is only good in the redzone so I wouldn't waste a 1st on a nietzche player. And that's if they can even get a play off in the redzone without a false sarte. With that OLine they will be lucky if Wentz isn't taken off on descartes. Which obviously means they'll bring back Kafka.
