"create cap space and sign a good player"

its so simple! if only they didnt need cornerbacks, wide outs, running backs, linebacker depth and an edge rusher or two
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

I'm sorry I don't have a spreadsheet available for you right now.

ice grillin you

the point is you dont overpay for a nice but not great player who would be the second best DT on your team when you have a trillion more important holes to fill and no money

c'mon now J, they have far more pressing needs than re-signing logan.
If guns kill people then spoons made Rosie O'Donnel a fatass.

phillies will be under 500 this year...book it

QB Eagles

I've seen a bunch of "what should team X do this offseason" stories in the media. For most teams the suggestions seem realistically helpful, then you get to the Eagles and it's like "you absolutely have to fix these 4 things but there's no money, even if you make cuts." That's when you realize how ugly the future looks for the Eagles.

the one positive is that they have the young qb who isnt even the best young qb in his division

you can want him back, as long as you realize it's maybe 15th on the priority list for the team.

He's a nice player who's going to get overpaid because he's a free agent. They already have too much money tied up in the defensive line. He's expendable.

QB Eagles

Basically they gotta use the limited free agency money on a WR2-level guy, and garbage level/old dudes at CB, RB, DE, OT or whatever other holes you want to fill and hope that at least one of them outplays expectations.

General_Failure

Or maybe they don't go spending money in free agency this year, draft a guy or two who can actually play for a change, go into the season with a coulple of holes again, and do it again next offseason, and somehow wind up with a core of good, young players.

Now, does anyone here know somebody that can draft players? Because the Eagles don't.

The man. The myth. The legend.

i agree with this...its at least a three year plan...year one was the qb...years two and three are filling in holes that were created by getting the qb....they also went hard last year in free agency...it was a lot of resigning their own guys but still was money spent on "free agents"...its now time to draft well for once

I am fine with them chilling out in FA - I certainly don't want them spending an insane amount of money on some bum like Kenny Stills.
