I think we will see the DGB bloom come later in the season once he's more familiar with everything

I too think you're smoking crack.  I bet you're a great salesman.  Everything's gonna get better soon!

QB Eagles

I wish I was as positive about anything as Phreak is about everything.

PhillyPhreak54

I don't think it's too homerish to think a guy with a year and five games under his belt will get better.

MDS

you didnt say get better you said "bloom"
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Don't be stupid

I'm using it descriptively not projecting him to be AJ Green

Jury's out but I'm not hopeful it works out in the end.  DGB has not flashed talent.  He's flashed competent, which ain't enough.  Kelly wasn't a gem but he might have been the better commodity to have afterall.

That's basically what I'm getting at.  At this moment they need a serviceable lineman a lot more than they need 3 catches a game from DGB.  I don't fault them for making the trade because they were giving up an average at best player in exchange for someone with a high ceiling, but this is basically the worst case scenario that people were concerned about when the trade was made.

I don't remember, but was Lane's situation already out there when they made this trade or did it happen after the fact?

QB Eagles

The Lane Johnson thing was already known.

PhillyPhreak54

Dennis Kelly has reached his NFL ceiling

DGB probably hasn't

On a team devoid of talent at WR you make the deal.

Or you plug in your rookie LG or Wiz and slide out Barbre who is about equal to Kelly at RT

General_Failure

Either way with that trade, Wentz will be getting sacked quickly because there's no blocking or slowly because no one's open.

The man. The myth. The legend.

the trade was worth a shot and im not second guessing it but he was in his second training camp with the titans and still didnt know the plays...but in philly hes going to bloom in a few games because of familiarity?
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

igy gettin it done like warrick

im the board pharmacist....always one step above yous

PhillyPhreak54

Nevermind.

He's gonna suck and they probably should release him.

Goddamn any farging comment made is twisted to the whole opposite side.

My farging point is that it's too early to say what he's going to do. And his upside is certainly worth more than that doddering fool Kelly trying to play OL.

SD

You can see the talent is there with DGB. I'd do the trade a million times over as I don't think Kelly is anything special whereas DGB has the tools to be a Plaxico Burress type of receiver. The one thing that surprises me is his lack of use in the redzone. Dude is 6'5 and can jump over any corner in the league and I think he has zero redzone targets.
