him saying this one day after he said that choke would be sitting more in sept so he could see more of tommy Joseph makes them pretty ridiculous but even if you aren't going to play the commish what is the point of coming out and trashing the kid

Is he actually trashing him or is the headline just edited to sound that way? I thought he was saying it's more important to play guys the Phillies have to make decisions about this offseason than a guy who they are definitely still going to have in the organization next year.

I think the logic of the moves is kind of dumb but I don't think the intention was to shtein on Goeddel.

either way he couldve chosen his words better....still goedell sucks and belongs in AA (AAA if hes lucky). theyre wasting a year of his life to keep him. nothing more to say.

Wow.  That's a zesty thing to do to a guy.  I mean maybe Goeddel is a farging douchebag who drowns kittens in his spare time, who knows? But for a manager to come out and basically say the only reason he's there is because my boss wants him there is a fleshpopish thing to infer in public.

I wonder how Mackanin will feel in two years when he gets fired just as the Phillies become relevant again?  He might think back to this day when he threw one of his kids onto the fire pit.  I doubt he will but he should.

no one cares if choke plays on sept 18....play tojo all month if you want....its the right thing to do....until the last series...that should be chokes curtain call and he should play every inning of those three mets games until the top of the ninth game three when he should be replaced in the field for a final goodbye walk off....would be a great scene and it would also avoid his last memory as a phillie being him lunging at a slider down and away in the dirt for strike 3

The Phillies have nearly completed their rebuilding from a bunch of old guys who can't play baseball anymore to a bunch of young guys who can't play baseball. I have seen the future, and it sucks.
